Which ips are those?

I will assume Minecraft (at least Microsoft spent billions on it).

I'd love to know the other? I'm fairly sure linkedin is not a IP.

Also how does "buying" these IP help? How has buying Minecraft helped the xbox in any way shape or form sell better?

Also, Minecraft will help Microsoft in the future. They will put more support on the xbox/windows version than playstation version. Also, they might snub the playstation version all together kind of like how they are going to allow pc, xbox , iPad, and Android users play with each other, but not playsation users. I believe it is safe to assume Microsoft won't let minecraft be on future playstation systems and use it as a system seller.

Sony and Nintendo dont have to fear anything what MS is doing, just like Apple doesnt have anything to fear coming from MS as their Computers are still the best selling and most profitable computers today and their Phones even more.

Just keep the console fundemenatals right and keep locking exclusives on your hardware, just expand your hardware with more stronger consoles and keep improving the PS OS.

Apple isn't close to selling the most computers and never has been.

Whole lot of wishful thinking there. I certaintly hope that BILLIONS of dollars they spent on it - will help them.

How will something that is on PC, Mac, android and Ipad - become a xbox console seller? Why would someone buy an xbox one for Minecraft - if it is on much more convenient devices.

The console versions of Minecraft outsold the PC version. Imagine a lot of kids who will ask their parents for a gaming console. Minecraft can persuade them to choose xbox over the competition.

I agree, it shouldn't affect them too much.

Also I see a lot of gramsci pupils in here, cool.

And sure, Sony can allow people to buy PS+ and play PSNow on PC and Xbox, but why allow Live on PS4?

And how about the android version? The Mac? The Iphone and Ipad?  Also keep in mind it isn't minecraft. It is "Minecraft realms". So someone will have to pick the xbox one over every other platform because they very much want to play with those people.. that are on those platforms.

And what percentage of people do you think will specifically buy an xbox one (ignoring pc, mac, android, ipad) JUST so they can play "mine craft realms" with other people. Infact isn't the point of realms so you can play with people on other devices?

So people would be buying an xbox one so they can play Minecraft with people NOT on an xbox one.

Yeah good luck with that :)

Despite Minecraft still selling on consoles by a huge margin (usually in the top 10). A lot of people love playing games on the big screen, couch co-op, play with their friends through xbl since it is better network than anything a mobile platform can offer, a controller, ect. Realms will help make the xbox version better and better which will lead to more sales and popularity.

Yes, you are right... We just missed Minecraft making X1 outsell PS4 in the VGC because they are so slow to update the charts, right?

Well Microsoft does have a bigger install base than Sony and Minecraft did help with that.

You are talking about the billions of PCs or that X1 passed PS4?

Well the xbox one is still very far behind Sony. And didn't he say the xbox one did better than PC though?

It is so very hard to follow dream logic.

I know when I want to play a game with friends - I buy the SYSTEM the game is on. If all my friends are playin on the PS4 - I will buy the ps4.

Yet the logic here is that people will go out in droves to buy the xbox one. Not to play with people on the xbox one (which they can already do) - but to get "realms" and play with people NOT on the xbox one. Though why wouldn't you just get an ipad and do the exact same thing.. but much much cheaper?

Well, If I had to guess I would say we choose the parameters that fit our narrative.
