Forums - Gaming - Are console gamers too willing to accept things?

when ps+ put "online gameplay" as a "feature" i was already a member for 3 or whatever years because i find a high amount of value in the games provided to the service as compared to the money payed. so like,.. stfu already about the $50. $50 for 72 games is an amazing value.

with any product there is a thing that is offered for price that is required. consoles systems have been very clear about what you get for what you pay for ages. if BC with decades old games is important to you then don't play on consoles because it has never been a guarantee.

personally,.. i'd rather pay nintendo $8 to have them ensure that super mario world works on the next gen hardware than to put in the work to figure out how to get myst working on my laptop that doesn't have a disc drive.

fuck that $8,.. i have kids now. my time is more valuable than that. maybe you have more time than things to do but keep your judgemental bullshit to yourself. i pay someone to change my oil too. i make no fucking apologies for paying for that service and i make no fucking apologies for being a console gamer either.

"(This is not an attack on console gamers and should not be taking as such)."

it absolutely is an attack.  it will probably pass moderation here but i'm absolutly offended by your OP.

No one is talking about the value. And this is what i mean about how fans try to suger coat it.

So since you find great value in it and dont mind paying everyone else should just accept it and shut up like you say??.

And no its not an attack.

He is just wondering what it matters to yourself I think, say if you were a console gamer who had issues with the systems which are in place I would understand criticism to them (if it was well put together) but as someone who is not a part of the community I think the post is basically asking what difference it would make to you how others spend their money or enjoy what they enjoy. You very clearly have no intentions of picking up a console at a point and joining the other side so why the thread attempting to generalize the actions of users of 3 seperate platforms which you don't use and criticise those actions.

Kitlers point is the fact that the system works fine for him and is far better a service so he can enjoy his time on other things than jumping through hoops to get things to work, sit down, play his games during the time he has to do so, pay the price of entry, considering the backs to the wall attitude which appears when someone mentions that it costs money to buy PC peripherals to use for gaming, why would you expect anything less from this thread? Or was this the expected reaction given that your OP originally predicted it along with the threat of reporting when it happens due to the thread content.

Idk about other people but I have standards. If Nintendo ever introduces paid online play I won't pay for it, I'd just game offline.

Same here.

Maybe they just figure that since PC gamers have to update their hardware more frequently, that they make us pay for other things in other ways.

I would say yes.

People got suckered into paying for online play. I am ok with premium services, but the online play itself should be widely available, just like it is on the PC. That paywall is preventing half of the market to even try online play. There is realisticly very few people who play online so much that a sub makes sense. There should simply be a limit of play hours a month, and to get past that, it would require the premium service.

If that happened, alot more online games could see longer quality services and lifetimes by beeing more populated.

But alas... wave a bit of money in front of a company in the easy and they can't help themselves. Quality services, fidelity and longer sales life be damned. It's easier to sucker some "fools".

First off i was a console gamer up to 2014. I payed for Xbox live on 360 and hated having to, but you know what?. I had no choice!. thanks to users like Kitler who just accepts that it works for them so why not?.

I was happy with how Sony was doing online on PS3 by having online Free but offering extra value for people who did want to pay.

But then with PS4 i was once again "Forced" to pay if i wanted to play online with my friends. Sure i was getting games. But alot of them where games i didnt even want. This is when i decided to sell my PS4 and fully switch to PC as my main gaming platform.

However this does in no way mean i will not buy another console. And it also in no way means i have no right to talk about any practice in gaming, a hobbie i love so near and dear.

I put that in my OP since it should be possible to talk about such things without turning to flaming or fighting why is this a shock to you??.

Wait so you were a console gamer in 2014 but were part of the PC gamers who refused to pay for GFWL in 2009? but at the same time were paying for xbox live gold, also your rapir account seems to suggest the max number of achievements you have in a X360 game is 11/42 and psn achievements are non existant, maybe there's something I'm missing here.

Of all the things about this thread though, nothing of its creation is the least bit shocking to me.

I accept that $400 for a console is fine. I would rather do that than shell out 3-4 times that much.

The Masterrace has the worst fanboys of them all. I don't need to upgrade my PC constantly just to play EVERYTHING on Ultra settings, when games are DESIGNED for consoles nowadays. No AAA developer is making 4K games for PC, I'm sorry. It's all upscaled. I don't need to waste tons of money, just for bragging rights.

User was warned for this post ~StarOcean

So it's now bad to be appreciative or what?

I could care less for what I game with. My 3DS, Wii U, and PC give me everything I need. I have little expectations for games( unless I've been waiting forever for them). Not too many games have left me severely disappointed.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Aren't PC gamers just a bunch of modders and pirates? I thought they wanted everything for free!
