Forums - Sony - Take Killzone 2 date with "grain of salt"

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=185568

Reports of Killzone 2 being set for a September release date, according to a "Sony Computer Entertainment UK release schedule", are to be taken "with a grain of salt", warns Guerrilla Games.

Reports claimed that Guerilla's shooter, along with LittleBigPlanet, are down for a September release, with Resistance 2 pencilled in for November. All perfectly feasible, but not necessarily official, says Guerrilla's QA manager, Seb Downie.

"Sorry folks, as before, please take any release dates, or months with a grain of salt," he told excited posters on the official forum. "If we haven't announced it, it is not gospel," he added.

with a grain of salt. wow that makes me feel happy. NOT!!

So what if KZ2, R2 and LBP all get added to the 2009 release list like GT5 recently did?

It could simply mean it will see a December release date instead.

Sony will probably give this title an extra few months of polish if it needs it. They've already heavily invested in it, and it's important for the platform that it's a success.

Wow this massive 2008 year is starting to cumble faster than that massive 2007 year did. First Haze, GTAIV, MGS4 and Home get moved out of 2007 into 2008 and now already Gran Turismo 5 and possibly Killzone 2 are moving into 2009. Sony has a real problem keeping deadlines, or maybe just shouldn't be showing games years before they're due.

i long ago learned the only time a game is rock solid on a release date is when its in my hands

How can you say 2 games without release dates are being pushed back. I'll give you KZ2 but guerilla has Sep. Oct. Nov. and Dec to release it this year(if it doesn't make the deadline) and no one expected GT5 this year. That is crazy speak

Umm so because one game that most expected to come in '09 gets confirmed, the year is crumbling?  KZ2 hasn't had an official date to begin with, so I'm not sure how they haven't kept it.  The devs have pretty much been saying the whole time that it will be done when it's done.
