Forums - Nintendo - Aonuma on voice acting in new Zelda

honestly I don't get this half ass attempt form them to put it in some parts of the game.

as i've been saying for YEARS how hard is to to enable voice acting ON/OFF in the bloody options menu lol.

This will cater to both groups, ones who want voice acting and ones who don't.

THIS!
Personally I skip as much dialogue as possible because it rarely contains any useful information. I just want to know where to go or what to do next.

I like this a lot, I really didn't like idea of Link speaking or that whole game has voice acting.

I like the voice acting, I hope the new Zelda has lots of it, it makes the game more dramatic. I hope it has a good story.

I would be perfectly okay with no voice acting at all. If the E3 trailer started with text just appearing at the bottom of the screen, I think I would have preferred that more than voice acting. Not that I found the voice acting bad, I'm just so used to text in my Zelda games and the text allows me to imagine the voices as I please.

Give people who love to complain about every goddam thing the option of turning the voices off.

This game is delivering in every possible way.

What's wrong with the voice we heard?

Anyway, I can take or leave voice acting in Zelda. Add it, don't add it, whatever. However, I'd prefer Link to always be silent. Link was always meant to be an avatar for the player. Giving him a voice would detract from that goal.

The voice is most likely Zelda. As Zeltik of Youtube has pointed out, during a story bit when the voice is speaking, a soft piano version of Zelda's Lullaby plays in the background.

I think it is a great fit for Zelda's voice. Soft and urgent.
