Worked out perfectly for me, the music after the cut off is currently my ring tone lol
I don't have a problem with it. Seems to be part of the trailers theme. At first Zelda (I presume) says 'Open your eyes', and we get the blink. It's like each time the screen blackens and changes the scene, Link is opening his eyes to something more exciting or significant than the last thing he was experiencing. Also, it has a 'don't blink or you might miss something' vibe to it.

Agreed, you should be able to switch to a female character before you start cooking.
I edit videos and direct them for a living.
This is not some kind of artistic decision.
Its a fuck up. Plain and simple. The whole trailer looks like it was made last minute from the demo anyway. Its not a good trailer. The editing isn't good enough at all.
It's a decent trailer.
