HOLY SHIT...... This is absolutely nuts if true:

The patent seems to display swapable buttons/sticks/dpad..... Or at least multiple variants with different configurations....

I don't know what this feature on the rear is...

Oh man, that's HUGE if true! That would make the DualShock the ultimate 8th gen controller.

Can anyone read Japanese?

I can get on board with that! It doesn't solve the biggest problem - the stick placement - but it looks to improve on the vanilla DualShock 4 model.

Also, if Sony's going to make the touch panel bigger, could it put it to good use?

Stick placement are perfect.

I always thought the Sony controllers had the ebst stick placement personally. But I do like the way this new controller is shaping up.

I'm partial to the Xbox placement, but I totally appreciate your preference. It's hard for me to get leverage on the sticks, with them being so far down and so close together.

Kinda reminds me of the Wii U gamepad layout. I'm on board with it. Especially if it's for neo.

I would totally buy the pro controller button placement.

I can understand that. I could just never get witht he Xbox stick placement....and I have fairly large hands. I never had a problem with them they just never felt natural to me. But hey I say to each his/her own and respect it all lol.

I am just ready to see what they do with this new dual shock 4 and see if ti will come with the regular PS4 or just the NEO.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

The patent seems unclear as to whether the placement is customizable or whether they are different variants altogether.

Probably not. However, the new touch panel looks more well integrated into the overall design of the controller and easier to press or swap.

Well, if this swappable thing is true, it would us both happy!

I would be over the moon with just SCUF-style paddles/buttons on the grips lol.
