Forums - Gaming - IGN reviews GT5 Prologue

Well, Mario Kart never gets rated high but its still a great game. I'm sure its the same case for GTP... then again, this is the Prologue--DUH! lol
When is the REAL game coming out??

Well, I've never played GT although I make test the waters with this. But if that review is accurate then for a 'prologue' its very good with the only real issue a lack of content vs what you can do with it - hence the somewhat contradictory statements : I think they're saying there isn't a massive amount of track content but giving the tuning, tweaks, etc. there is a hell of a lot you can do with it.

Sounds like if there was some more content this would be a 9 or 9 plus review - so I guess things are looking very good for GT5 when the full game arrives as I presume that it will be full of content next to the 'prologue' so big scores are assured.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Perhaps Sony should take a leaf from Nintendo's book and release this game free with every PS3 sold.

Why? This game will sell well on it's own. You don't throw away profits like that.

I wouldn't bundle this game because of the fact it would hurt GT5 sales, which are going to be much more profitable.

Why not 10 for graphics!!!! my copy should be in the post and arrive here tommorow. The amount of content in it has really grown since the Japanese release, and I can't wait to drive through the streets of London at 200mph

@ Riot,

The rationale behind including it as a pack in is to generate PS3 sales. On second thought however, as Aj_habfan has suggested, it would arrest potential GT5 sales - so maybe not. I just thought I'd throw it out there.

I'm REALLY thinking about making this my next purchase :)

I don't get why they would mark the game play down if it can be "GT5 as challenging as you want it to be. It's a finesse racer. Very civilised."

And graphics 9.5? Are they marking it down purely cause its not the full game?
I don't think this is a fair review

Decent enough review, but one thing annoys me. I don't think they have rated Prologue based on the fact that it is a Prologue and costs half the price of a normal game. Surely this should give it more brownie points and surely Lasting Appeal should have been graded based on the FACT that this is a prologue to the real game and is half the price.

Also, they state that you will tire of the tracks, yet there is more in the game than some full-priced games, yet give it a 7.

I reckon they should be scoring the Overall score at over 9 to be honest, if price is to play a part.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

That would be a stupid way to rate the game. This game should be reviewed just like any other game. If it doesn't have the lasting appeal as other games, then you don't give a high score like the other games. If they gave a 9, you'd be saying it's right there with Smash Brothers in lasting appeal.
