Wut? I was in the /r/XboxOne sub in the megathread during E3, and they all called the MS conference a cringefest. Sea of Thieves and Minecraft presentations, everyone said were awful. Scalebound looked boring, or at least underwelming. Gears looked generic. FFXV was "wtf, is this game just about getting hit with a giant arm?". The consensus was that the only good thing during the conference was Horizon 3, customizable controllers, and Play Anywhere.

Which is exactly how I felt.

God forbiden having people on the stage playing social games!!

Microsoft visiou for their presentation is diferent from Sony, and both are diferente from Nintendo.

For Microsoft is a more straight foward show: "Here is what we have and this is what you can do with your products".

Microsoft could have released more gameplay for Recore, God of War, Days Gone(I think that Horizon too), all were played on live on the Sony's Conference.

They did well with the Scalebound gameplay, but Square Enix damaged the FFXV with a bad trailer in Microsoft's conference.

I'm sorry, but they were absolutely cringey. That woman being overly excited just walking around in Minecraft? Those guys losing their shit because *gasp* their character was climbing a ladder onto the ship? Ridiculous.

I'm sorry a large community dedicated to XBOne had an opinion you don't like. But, you can't blame on "trolls" or GAF, or it being a mixed community like VGC. /r/XboxOne is a dedicated XBOne subreddit and the 4500 members that were active that day said the MS conference was rubbish. And they didn't rationalize it with "god forbid people on stage playing social games". They recognized the cringe and called it what it was.

That's not to say that the opinions there are end all, be all. Just that the opinion that MS had a good show is a minority opinion, even amongst Xbox fans.

It seems you are not aware how kids these days play Minecraft.

Yes, it was stupid for you and me, and most of forum dwelers.

I don't even care what people say it's a good or bad show. Belive you or not there are people that just want to know about games and technologie, not Orchestra presentation.

Should Microsoft stage a Kanye West show and invite Cirq du Solei? Show misterious trailers for 2 or 3 years away games? Play with nostalgia of old games and franchises?

Well, Microsoft has has done all of that in the past, and might do it again in the future. But with Scorpio down the line MS had to fucuses on imidiate results. The more ambiscious games will have to wait until next year.

Odd that he refers to the PS4 as "platforms". It's a single device.

He was including the Wii U, obviously. I mean, when is LoZ:BotW releasing?

GT Sport, TLG and Gravity Rush 2 are all confirmed for this year.

This guy has been saying ridiculous things all E3. Where does it say on the rules of E3 that you need release dates?
E3 is about new game announcements and Sony delivered. Microsoft announced new games but literally ALL of Sony's new announcements are better and are talked about more.

Ratchet and clank
Uncharted 4
Ni-oh
Star ocean 5
Dragon quest builders
Kingdom hearts 2.8
King of fighters XIV
Guilty gear XRD revelator
Gran turismo sport
Street fighter 5
The last guardian

All on PS4 this year.

Xbox has

PS4 seems to have more exclusives this year already released and coming out. Not to mention all the VR games as well.

"Focus on imidiate results" Scorpio will only launch in holidays 2017, nearly all the games showed in this E3 ,with the exception of Kojima's game, will probably come out before Scorpio.

I guess he is talking about 1st party exclusives.

Sony also kind of announced things that were... You know...

New.

Phil Spencer was asked this, very provocative question:

"You've talked previously about how proud you are about how Microsoft Studios has grown with a diverse lineup, but many people have characterized Sony's studio system as being stronger in that regard. Do you feel that that's an unfair comparison at this point considering the array of content you have?"

He gave an incredibly diplomatic answer, and one that -based on this year's E3 at least, isn't really spin at all.

He also didn't mention Sony at all. The only time he DID mention a Sony property was to praise Uncharted and the Last Guardian.

All in all, we could only hope that Phil and other company's gaming management would be this fair-minded and reasonable all the time.

Edit: He actually mentioned Sony seperately in the interview twice - both times to highlight that he doesn't get into the boxes sold versus boxes sold argument largely because he focuses on people actively engaged via Xbox Live across Xbox 360, Xbox One, Scorpio and Windows 10.
