I'm not sure why they would wait on the later SKUs. It's not like they're gonna liquidate the big Bones. It's hard to comment on an item that only has about a year's shelf life in it though.

Looks like the rumours are right, shrinking the die cost money. For a slim this is pretty expensive.

The differnce between a 500gb hdd, and a 1tb one, isnt 50$ for a big manufacture like MS.

They rather sell you a more expensive model, with a bigger HDD, because it makes them more profit.

Hype levels would be low, if they said it was 399$ though.

not much different than when psvr was announced starting at the stand alone price but they the first pre-order only had the bundle with the camera and move controllers.

if you don't want the $400 version just wait for the $300 version to get posted.

I didn't know that the other options would't be available in August till now. I had only known about the $299 500gb no controller and then moving up from there.
