Forums - Microsoft - Sea of Thieves (XBO and PC) E3 2016 gameplay reveal

I have to say, I'm not impressed nor interested in this game.

This looks like it's going to be fun for about an hour or so...

First of all, navel battles look cool as hell. I love that you can sink other ships.

However, this leaves a TON of questions unanswered, so it's hard to get excited about it.

I mean, what else is there to do? Will there be guilds? Quests? What is head to head combat like? Raiding? Armor and weapon upgrades? Pay to win?

A lot of stuff needs to be answered.

This game lost me when it was reveiled it was multiplayer focused and that is more of a sandbox game than anything else.Having said that, its a really pretty game with an excellent idea behind it.Its just not for me.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Looks like I am going to have a blast playing this with friends.

Exactly this. The game has mad potential, but there are just so many questions, and so much that could go wrong. The idea of manning a ship with a fully human crew and exploring the galaxy has been something I've been hoping to see in space games for a long time, but exploring the open seas sounds fun, too -- provided there's a good amount of stuff to find.

Another question is how the online will be handled. The best method I can think of is having you form your crew in the lobby, and allowing other crews to invade your game a la Dark Souls

Oh, I like that idea! That's good thinking.

Like you guys, I think there's huge potential here. I just want to see how interactive and expansive the world really is.

Fingers crossed!

Yeah, the way it sounds, you're going to get creamed unless you have a full crew to man the cannons. The only way around that I can think of is if smaller boats are faster.

This game would be pretty interesting... If Black Flag didn't exist.
