thank you! I only tried the demo for the latest one but it was way too different from the gothic badass Dante of the older games. Bring THAT back, not this new hipster bullshit where they try to reinvent the wheel.

Id love to see a new DMC.

Yeah, I dunno what convinced them to take it in the hipster direction. Loved the original Dante and the first 4 Devil May Cry games. Mostly 1, 3 and 4.

The gameplay was still great.

I really enjoyed the gameplay in the newest installment and the soundtrack was BA......but I always enjoyed the original Dante more.

The original DMC on my PS2 was AMAZING!

I found it now repetitive than the better DMC games (1&3), which had puzzles, better level design and more variation in combat and styles. 

DMC had very linear levels, no puzzles and essentially boiled down to linear combat sections, linear platforming sections and then a boss a battle. Worse yet, the best bosses and one level in particular was ripped off straight from Lollipop Chainsaw - the best the game got was thanks to another game.

The biggest problem with the franchise has been inconsistencies due to Capcom being stupid. They know the fanbase hates playing as anyone else but Dante, they knew we hated huge backtracking sections, yet with 2 and 4 they did exactly that. When it didn't work out well they chose to make a new DMC with a totally new character, got rid of the Resi 1 and 2 like level design with puzzles etc that 1 had lots off that was amazing and replaced it with extremely linear levels thinking it will bode better. 

Capcom not only sabotaged their own franchise by constantly going against the fanbase, but they fragmented the base by making 3 types of DMC games - the original style, the backtracking style and the linear style.

Doesn't mean DMC5 isn't happening though. I think its very likely its beeing developed because Dragon's dogma 2 apparantly isn't. They got DD online out. So, that team has got to be working on something... and DMC and DD is all they do.

Unless... they are working on a new Onimusha or dino crisis.

Isn't that team working of Deep Down, or at least part of it?!
