Forums - Microsoft - Kotaku:The Windows Store is a giant disaster. 98% of PC sales of RotTR were from Steam

Good. Hopefully it goes the way of GFWL (aka way of the dodo)..

Is anybody really surprised by that?

You don't beat Steams dominance of the PC market overnight, and certainly not with a storefront that everybody seems to hate...

MS already screwed PC gamers before. PC gamers never forget. I'd be surprised if MS ever made progress with PC gaming.

Seducing PC gamers or "the master race" with inferior versions of games smh. They would've gamed on consoles instead

Regarding the Windows 10 Store, this is what Microsoft should do IMO: launch a full blown Steam competitor with all necessary features, or just don't even bother.

win10 is a thing and it's new and you don't overthrow the establishment overnight (ussually).

the question is does MS have the determination to stick with it for the long haul? MS has a long history of abandoning ship if something isn't working out pretty much right away.

That's not true, look at how hard they tried with

- Zune

- Internet Explorer

- MSN Messenger

- cell phones

- Bing

Microsoft really should stop with the Windows Store, or at least for games. No one is interested in a featureless DRM riddled fest for which you need yet another account.

Nothing surprising about this. Right now Steam is the superior service and has a huge userbase advantage.

100% of people who use Steam are gamers.

Don't all windows 10 games have issues? Borderless windows, no freesync/gsync support, no sli/crossfire support, overall horrible optimization, etc

With games like Quantum Break, it just plain won't launch for some users, and no one knows why. It's kept me from talking the risk with it.

Wait, so 2% of the copies sold were through the Windows Store? That's more than I expected really

Wow, Quantum Break must have flopped so much then. They would be smart to release the games on Steam.
