Forums - General - Most overhyped products

I am not an apple fan myself, but except for the I-watch, I-mouse and I-stiletto there products aren't that overpriced really. I agree with the other two products though especially those beats by dr Dré headphones. Another thing that is really overpriced is every complete pc that is made by a brand like alienware or MSI. Have you ever seen what they ask for an MSI gaming desktop, way more than necessary. If you put the bits together at a site as gamepc.nl the exact same pc except maybe for the casing is way cheaper. It's like buying a collecters edition for a game you get three useless things and the casing looks different and sometimes a bit better and you are charged €80 instead of €55

To say that products of a company with the biggest profit on this planet and which has like a 40% profit margin on their phones aren't overpriced is a little bit funny to me. Apple doesn't even have the most modern tech in their phones or anything like that. They could easily sell them for much less.

Are they overhyped? Not sure if you can say that in general,. Some buy it because of hype and some because they simply like how easy to use Apple products are. That is at least something which I give Apple.

And I think Apple MacBooks/iMacs are pretty good for people who have specific jobs where Apple offers a great product for them.

Beats for sure. They're more like a fashion accessory to show off than an actual good pair of headphones. They do look nice and the packaging and accessories are fancy too so if that's what you're going for I can't blame you.

Yeah, if we talk about pure sound quality, Beats are really not worth that much if you compare them with similar priced headphones.

They might be great for people who love music with a  strong bass but that is probably nothing which costs a lot in research & development compared to headphones which are  more about to be good for other kind of music (classical and so on)

Definitely Apple Products...

1) apple products.

Besides the ipad, I despise most apple products. They're overpriced, have no back button, and most of their products still start with 16 GB(and no option of SD card). Last innovation was probably the iPad. Apple watch is a joke...a very expensive joke.

This bit made me chuckle. Since when has 'having no back button' deemed detriment to an OS? iOS doesn't have a back button because it simply doesn't require one. The use of multi-tasking, tab control and forward/back gestures more than faciltate the requirement for a user to back track on tasks. To make my point futher - OSX, Windows and all forms of Linux that are not Andorid, do not have back buttons.

Most of their products start with 16GB? Yup. That sucks. But so does the competition.

SD Card? Comparble to competition. The difference with the Apple Eco System is that nearly all content can be cloud based - music, photos, app saves etc - negating the need for expandable storage. Of course, if you want local storage, there are devices with much larger storage options. They just don't facilitate expandable storage.

Quite honestly, having used Android devices with expandable storage I am glad it isn't supported on iOS. Expandable storage on Android is mostly handled poorly in terms of saving/retreiving files (seperate storage vs. combined, Samsung tried but still failed IMO) and the biggest issue - expandable storage is much slower than internal flash. I'll take faster, internal storage over expandable storage any day when it comes to phones.

Last innovation was the iPad? Not that long ago then - and still widely regarded as being the best tablet device. Only recently has it been seriously challenged by the likes of MS Surface.

Apple Watch is a joke? Well, compared to other smart watches I would say it is easily the best on the market. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it a innovative and necessary device? Probably not. But it is one of the most advanced if not the most advanced wearable on the market.

To be fair, last apple product I had was an iphone 4s. A lot has changed since then I assume. I've grown accustomed to having a back button on my phones.

Also, I think samsung had a much smarter approach to smart watches. The navigation on the Gear S2 is simply much more comfortable(and easier to understsnd).

Don't think I hate apple or anything. I still like their products, especially Mac OS. If gaming computers had Mac Os, I'd easily choose it over windows

I was looking at the title thinking "this can't go anywhere good". Then I realized who you are (the picture changed).

You are the guy that made the "I'm sorry thread" about making and I quote "a LARGE amount of troll threads I made. Basically, I'd take a viewpoint I had, twist it around, and attempt to gain a good reaction".

So yeah - I think I'm right - this won't go anywhere good.

What in actual hell...?

Do you seriously think I'm trolling? Look at all my threads and posts after that. None of them are trolling or clickbait.

My opinion contradicting yours doesn't automatically make it trolling. It's a topic I thought that'd be interesting. Don't like my threads? Then get off of them.

Anything remotely popular, clearly.

Like I said - that was a direct quote. YOU said you were making a large amount of troll threads. YOU said you take a view point twist it around and hope for people to have a reaction.

And now you have a thread where you start of the topic with the word overhyped?

I think this is yet another thread in a long list of your threads intended to just get reactions out of people. You did it, you apologized for it - and now you are doing it again with a slew of threads.

I'm just going to ignore you. I didn't expect 90% of the thread to result into a debate about apple. Besides, it's actually a great conversation- people mentioned a lot of things I didn't realize when making the thread.

But wait, I must be trying to gain attention by some magical explanation. How about you just stop thinking im trying to do anything bad? I'm here to talk.

You have a long history of doing that. YOU yourself apologized for it and brought attention to it. So now you are shocked when someone points out that you are doing something very similiar to what YOU yourself admitted and apologized for?

Also you started a thread about things being overrated - and first thing you brought up Apple. Did you really not think people would talk about it?

Dear lord, I wouldn't mind if you hadn't automatically assumed this was for attention.

Also, I didn't think it would be the majority of the thread. I could care less for what people talk about, but I expected people to mention things beside apple

It's cool to hate on Apple, apparently.
