Forums - Gaming - Has anyone realize how bad COD:IW pre-orders are?

Your thoughts on IW?

The game deserves these h... 21 47.73%

Activision is trying, so ... 6 13.64%

Good riddance! Franchise ... 17 38.64%

Total:44

37
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (XOne)
Activision, Shooter
25 8,147 30,455
34
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (PS4)
Activision, Shooter
25 12,222 33,014

So as of the second week of preo-orders, the games have a combined total of around 63k pre-orders. This is BO3 in comparison (in its 2nd week):

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (XOne)
Activision, Shooter
N/A 85,000 174,584

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (PS4)
Activision, Shooter
N/A 58,878 120,930

Now the numbers could be way off, but if vgchartz is correct, this could be a disaster for the franchise. Hope this is the wake up call to acti that it needs to put the franchise on hold.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Good chance for Battlefield to capitalize.

It's CoD. It will recuperate. Battlefield is in a unique position here though,

INB4: THE COD KILLER HAS BEEN IN OUR FACES THE WHOLE TIME!

People kept saying year after year, "such and such game will kill CoD" or "this is THE CoD killer" and so on. All failed. In the end, it was only Cod that could kill CoD itself

The problem they had was putting ALL of their eggs in repeating future warfare for three years in a row.

I think a cool way around this would be to have a story of a time traveling soldier who has to fight in multiple eras in the same campaign. It could also make for some super cool multiplayer, and not as far-fetched as it sounds. In Somalia in 1993, one of the Delta Force guys carried a relatively ancient M14 (already ~40 years old at that point!), and absolutely owned with it. Hell the M1911 is over 100 years old and still perfectly effective.

Predicton: IW will still be the Best Selling Game at the End of 2016 of all releases from this year !!! :P ;)

I'm not a good person to base this one as I haven't really played CoD online since 2,3,4, and w.e the one after that was, but I'm personally just looking forward to the WWI Battlefield game and I have friends who are also eagerly waiting for it. It's not a war that seems designed for a game like this (trench warfare that is), but from what I've seen it looks very cool.

There's an opportunity there for a great campaign in single player as well... I hope they have something akin to All's Quiet on the Western Front. It's a war that's generally been overshadowed by WWII.

Battlefield doesn't have any, should we be worried?

In my opinion, we should wait and considering preorders are not exactly vgchartz's strength,

VGChartz's preorder charts aren't very reliable. The actual number is likely significantly higher. Sadly.

It's about time. Let's hope it goes the Rock Band way.
