Forums - Gaming - UWP Increases Xbox install base significantly.

the strategy was very successful for windows phone so i don't see why people are doubting its extreme relevance to pc and xbox.

UWP is dead on arrival as far as PC game developers are concerned

Care to explain? It has issues right now, but it is new and did help make games like Quantum Break and soon Sunset Overdrive on the PC without much effort.

It has so many bugs, shadowplay issues, it doesn't use the full potential of PC gaming, theres no reason for 3rd parties to put games on there when Steam exists, ect.

Awkward to read this comments and then see a thread with people who would buy Sunset Overdrive if it is on the Windows 10 store.

Where is that chalk board??????!!!!!!!

Little to no coding? How? Is it black magic? XD

Agreed. All Win 10 users who become at least weekly users of UWP should be added to the Xbox One numbers on the front page. Starting........

Now.

Uh, why would it add to the Xbox install base? The games would have been on PC regardless in most cases. If anything, it adds 20 million or whatever Xbone has sold, to the Windows 10 install base.

UWP will be a success if they continue to improve it and bring Xbox AAA titles over, as seems to be the case.

I don't think it will threaten Steam, Origin, Battle.net, etc. PC has proven long ago that many different distribution platforms can co-exist with no issue.

LOL. I just knew this was coming.

The PS5 Exists.

UWP is a platform that makes it easier to port and make games on PC and Xbox one with little to no coding.

*Looks at Quantum Break on PC*

*Laughs*

If UWP were a somewhat competitive service that just had a few exclusive MS titles like EA with Origin, I might buy into it. But MS showed their colors yet again upon its release with an embarrassingly inferior service whose clear goal is to wall off an open platform. I'd like to play some MS titles I'm missing out on if they were done right, as it stands that's nowhere near the case. I hope enough people refuse UWP until it's either scrapped or MS dramatically reforms it.
