Forums - Sony - How did Uncharted 3 get a 92 metacritic?

Because it has "Uncharted" in the title.

I agree with some of the complains. I personally liked the game, but as far as Uncharted goes, it is the worst one of the bunch.

EDIT: I'm not sure if you OP had to play the original Uncharted 3 game or, as opposed to it, the one in Nathan Drake Collection, but let me tell you, they had to patch the gunplay because it was really bad at times. They messed up U2's gunplay for no apparent reason.

I did play it on PS3, but after the patch. I remember it being a bit better still.

Because it was a great game.

This. I thought it was better than Uncharted 2 and had a better MP.

it was a great game that´s why.

it has a 93 on Metacritic actually and would be a 94 if not for one random 4/10 from a mainstream newspaper.

It scores so well because the production values. But I can see why this thread exist. After a 4th in series people who dont really like this style of game are going to be tired of seeing it score so much better than titles they like.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

Most console exclusives, or games from " big" developers get "great" to "fantastic" scores. How often do you see a exclusive score less than an 80?
Reviewers just aren't harsh enough, in my opinion.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I actually like Uncharted 3 but the entire series is over rated.

I think its funny Killzone 2 has a score in the 90s. The game is boring and MP died pretty fast.

I was still playing the MP over a year after launch. Community was going strong at that point. Kz3 now that died fast.

Because other people liked it more than you? Metacritic is just an average of scores - so to get a 93 all the other reviewers must have given it fairly good scores.

I was a big fan of uncharted 3. It is all subjective though.

Yeah, I mean, this isn't hard to figure out.

Here, I'll answer this for every other "how did X game get an X score" thread that pops up:  the people who reviewed the game, on average, liked it more (or less) than you did.

Simple as that.  Maybe the things you didn't like didn't mean as much to them.  Maybe they liked the things you didn't like.  There isn't a concrete formula when talking about opinions.

I thought it was a great game. It's not as good as UC2, but it's still a very good game.

Also, I feel like last gen scores were inflated.

Sums it up nicely. Why do you think that is? Were expectations just lower last gen?

I feel it's around what it got. I liked 2 better, but 92 is what I'd give it overall. The first game however... ehhh.

Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe it's because it was the first HD gen on consoles so "everything" looked better than previous generations. Or maybe there were like clickbait reviews.

That was an odd comment, as KZ2 MP certainly did not die fast.  It was still strong when KZ3 was launched.  They tried to make KZ3 MP more "mainsteam" because of the people who complained about KZ2 MP.  KZ3 MP was fun but it was no longer different from all the other fast MP games.

As for the score, that was mostly because it was gritty and unique, with an underlying complexity that FPS games generally lack, and people liked that.

*snap*

None of the points in the OP match my experience of the game.
