Honestly, I'd rather see them working on a new IP. Nintendo needs a real showpiece for the NX, and the Wii U never had one. They also need to silence the naysayers and a strong AAA hardcore IP would do it. I also don't want them working on Donkey. Fucking. Kong.

Star Tropics would be amazing. The game would translate well to 3D in my opinion. I also want a 3D mother game (Earthbound 64 looked great.)

I'd rather it be a new IP, but it can honestly be anything as long as it's made for the mainstream, western audience.

I was wondering when we would get a Star Tropics thread...
It just isn't E3 season without at least one...
Both Star Tropics and Zoda's Revenge were added to the North American eShop recently (it might have even been last week)...
I would say that basically confirms we're getting a new Star Tropics...
Tee hee...
On a more serious note, I think they could do some crazy stuff with a Star Tropics revival, though I think something like Gumshoe or Mach Rider would probably work better for a gritty Western audience...

I saw Nintendo added the Star Tropic games to WiiU Virtual Console recently. I really need to play them.

Also, I've always liked the idea of Retro being the designated necromancer of Nintendo. It brings back to life properties long thought dead. It revivified Metroid in glorious fashion, and made Donkey Kong a star again. It would be cool to see the folks at Retro resurrect something like Wave Race or Diddy Kong Racing or something like that.

Also, I would hate for Retro to make a game in the style of Uncharted or modern Tomb Raider. Old-school Tomb Raider? No problem. But not the modern games. Too much of those titles is scripted.
