Forums - Gaming - How do YOU define an AAA game?

If were speaking of our personal opinion on a game, I don't put games in terms of AAA. I'm just aware that I want it really badly.

If we're speaking in general terms to get a point across, like "so and so console has so and so more AAA games than so and so console #2", then I consider a game 90%+ on gamerankings and/or metacritic to define the status and don't take sales into the equation.

Being 88+ on metacritic is what a AAA title is considered for me.

It has nothing to do with what other people think or performance of the game. The mass market can all rate a game 1 out of 100. Just as long as the person playing it enjoyed it extremely. I never played a ratchet and clank game until Future. I was fascinated with it and believe it was AAA. Uncharted was AAA to me.

Halo(1 and 2) I have tried playing through and can't complete the damn things. I find them dull and boring.

Gears I find lacks any type of story and doesn't influence me to finish it. (I did though in Co-op)

Those games for me were not AAA

Nintendo games... I haven't played the Zelda or Mario games but SSBB I have played. I find that game not so much fun by yourself. It is only fun playing with your friends in my experience. I would not define it AAA. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy it... only in certain circumstances though. I didn't enjoy NMH. They went the artistic route for that game and I like those type of games... but I don't know it just didn't rub me the right way... Maybe it was the motorcycle... maybe it was the pixles...

something thats enoyable by everyone, and keeps on bringing the fun.

ratchet and clank, jak and daxter, super smash bros,

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

That sums it up. Any game can be AAA for anybody depending the compatibility. I almost didn't recognize you. Haha trying to hide your identity?

That's an odd number you picked for AAA status. Care to mention which PS3 game swayed your opinion on the matter?

AAA title is a blockbuster game that everyone buys, it obtains a review score of 85% or higher and the game sells in excess of 2 million copies.
