Americans are misinformed on many things. Also I don't know what you think medicaid/medicare and social security are, but they they are "free healthcare" and "public pension plans." Australia at least has a privatized system at the core of its pension system.

http://www.heritage.org/index/

Australia ranks 5th, Canada ranks 6th, the U.S ranks 11th.

Capitalism and right-wing aren't intrinsically linked (only in the minds of socialists is this true.) For example, Bastiat - a famous proponent of capitalism - sat on the left of the French assembly. The right-left paradigm has more to do with traditionalism/institutional hierarchy vs. equality/radicalism.

Left right is for approach to things, not ideology. You can have a leftist capitalist (an ordoliberalist) or a right wing socialist (a Nazi)...

The right-left paradigm is rooted in the early 19th century French assembly, a dispute between absolutists and democratic republicans (the latter including liberals/capitalists and socialists alike), in that post-enlightenment landscape. Anything outside of that context, is just pushing a square peg into a round hole and hoping it explains things well.

yes its a scale. most commonly depicted as a left to right bar bewteen laisse faire capitalism and communism. EU has drifted to far to the communism part of the bar. It is also not good to be totally on the capilatism side of the bar (can lead to too much volatility). Europe just needs to start drifting back to capitalism until they reach a place where the engines of their economies can be ignited.

That's so american to call communism everything that is slightly leftist. You know not every part of the world has to look exactly like USA.

I did not say that. I said it is the opposite of capitalism.

I think most of it is driven by culture anyways. Certain people groups are simply more industrious than others. There is a reason why Germany has been crushed badly 2x times in the past 100 years but always rebuilts itself and reastabishes its economic dominance. (note, I am not German).

British culture is also industrious which is a huge part of why I know they will be just fine.

FTSE-100 down 7.6pc and falling as it catches up with futures prices

Well, now we've put the cat among the pigeons.

Oh Lord Why? Now you're leaving us in this stupid Union defenceless against Germany and their stupid leftist policies. UK-V4 could be able to counterweigh Germany, Benelux and France and actually reform this monster. Without you, it's going to be terrifying.

I understand why you want to leave, but... It's so selfish of you And the scariest thing is that Poles would never vote to follow your footsteps

lol, you do realize most of the "Leave" camp despise Polish immigrants right?

Poland is the country that had the largest explosion of immigration into the UK since 2001 largely because of the EU.

So? What difference does it make?

Why would they? Poland is a huge beneficiary of the EU and the UK wasn't.

Not really. The country that benefits the most out of the EU is Germany. UK with its rebate was also benefitting. It's common knowledge that after 2020 Poland will get rough terms and I think it'll be the perfect time to leave this sick organization, if it keeps going the way it goes now.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

US futures have come back some. Dow now down 520 or 2.9% was well over 700 after the initial knee jerk reactions. I think investors in the US will calm down and realize this helps the US. Why? Because whenever the world panics they start throwing their money at the US. Happens each f-ing time there is a crisis elsewhere.

I do think the EU failed in what it become, All that was needed is free trade among Europe without trying to create a new country called "Europe".

..but whether or not leaving or to remain was the better idea I have no idea.

ya Poland has a bad deal. Polish people deserve better. They have alot of historical links with England. If Poland left I bet UK would get really cozy with them.

Poland needs the UK and Germany a hell of a lot more than they need Poland.

The large influx of Polish immigrants is one of the driving reasons for the Brexit, a lot of (mostly old fogey from the looks of it) Brits didn't take kindly to that many poor Eastern Europeans coming into the country due to EU rules.

Awkward, Poland (East European) immigrants were a reason of a lot of hate against EU.
