Well maybe VR will be sold separate same like PSVR.

It just seems a bit desperate. Taking time of the developement of your console to push a technology that has not been proven profitable in the long run yet and might not even be accepted by Nintendo's audience seems like a really big miscalculation. The NX needs as much developement time as it can alone, focus on it first.

I don't think so, after Wii U it more important to have affordable price of console, why force someone pay extra money for VR if they don't want VR at all. I am pretty sure Wii U would sell much better if they had SKUs without gamepad.

Probably more akin to a tablet.

Is N in panic mode after the release of Polaris 10 and the PS4K/Xbox Scorpio rumours? The sure can't afford to mess another generation up!

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I dunno, Digitimes sounds like they're throwing a lot of stuff at the wall and hoping some of it sticks.

They're also saying their previous forecast of 20 million NX units has now been slashed to just 10 million ... so what's happening here?

Maybe Nintendo is also internally hit a crisis point with NX development and have been changing the concept/hardware focus late into the game?

Also it sounds like from this report that VR is being shoe horned in at the last moment, I dunno if I believe it or not.

To be honest I find myself caring less and less, Nintendo sure knows how to suck the fun/hype out of everything and turn it into a slog fest.

Its Nintendo's fault for these rumors?

I doubt it: I think it's pretty clear that it isn't the power of your hardware that sells the hardware but rather the software backing it up. I know which influences my buying decisions more.

Nintendo going with the times?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Sounds strange to me. Mobile hybrid is cool but what aspects of VR is built into the system that would warrant a delay? I really can't see Nintendo forcing even a cheap VR head kit in every box (that'd be awful) and so would they delay a system to launch alongside an optional peripheral?

Personally hope this is false. If anyone can make VR fun and accessible it's Nintendo, but I really don't think it should be weighted so heavily to enable a delay. Unless the change is making the system more powerful

Uh oh, history has proven that when Nintendo adds features like 3D, AR, Asymetric gameplay, Motion controls, and now VR, they tend to abandon the concept few years later, the feature becoming a burden for further gaming development...

VR headsets are expensive enough, to the point where you have to ask yourself, do you trust company x,y,z to support it with lots of content?

Sony is even "looking the otherway" when it comes to porn on theirs.

Can you imagine VR porn on a nintendo console? Will nintendo have 3rd party VR games?

Don't buy this rumour for a second, the nx will not be a handheld/mobile device that can be plugged into a TV. Mass production will start in 2016, early 2017 is too late to meet a March release date.
