I picked it up at launch with my Wii. I loved it too. Some of the challenges were really difficult to do so it kept me entertained for a long time. The controls were really tight. I found it had better motion steering than excite truck did. I played this one a lot more than the other 5 games i got at launch (including Zelda).

I just wish I would have been able to unlock other stuff by beating it with different characters. Thats my only complaint.

I'm still playing it constantly and have been for a year now and have still only completed up to 87% on 4 characters - gets really hard and cannot understand why everyone dismissed it.

When you get to teir 6 or so onwards the length and pace of the races is just fantastic, also love excite trucks and would love more of these type of games personally and yes youre right about the controls - they are a lot tighter than excite trucks.
