So according to the latest PS4 sales report, PS4 had around 271M software sales while 3DS is at 274M and Wii U is probably at 70M(needs confirmation). So basically when will PS4 outsell 3DS and Wii in terms of software?

Wasn't there an article a while back that PSN alone made more money than all of Nintendo combined?

Software might take a while so I would say holiday 2016. 3DS is still selling decent amounts of software and there is a new pokemon on it's way.

As for hardware

Well I would say holiday 2018 at it's earliest. The 3DS is around 60 million. The Wii U will flat out at 15 million probably. By that time the 3DS is close to 75 million given that NX cuts support from Nintendo. So that's ninety million. Given the asdumption that the PS4 has 60m units at 1 april 2017 and 78 at April 2018 I see that around October 2018 the PS4 surpasses both if them combined.

Idk about that.

Eversince Jan. 2015, PS4 had more than tripled the software sales.

And considering 3DS and Wii U are declining. 2017 is pretty much possible.

Jrpg fan... Sony's forecast is  60m ps4 shipped  as of  March 31th 2017, 3ds alone will be very close 60m as of June 28th 2016... Do you want to revise this  prediction?

As for the software, not a hard task ( but don't be so certain about the 'sooner'*) ! With the  immense and rapidly increasing catalog of third parties of ps4 vs wii u's only first party titles and 3ds's first party and little third party support.

Nintendo is forecasting 329m 3ds software sold  and 90m for the wii u as of March 31th 2017 , 419m total...

Since we talk about shipments+digital, It's 84m... However, 84m and 274m are as of March 31th 2016, while ps4 numbers are as of May 22th 2016!

Why? Nintendo is saying they forecast 800k units sold this year for the Wii U, and 3DS sales have slowed down alot.

Sony are going to do 2 years of 20m+ sales. That means by the end of 2017 / start of 2018, they ll likely be 76m+ units or so.

I dont think 3DS + Wii U hardware, by the end of 2017 will be that high.

               Hmmmm 3ds should be at 66-67m and wii u at 13.8m-14m  ( always going by Nintendo's forecasting, they may miss it, in that case the 15m would be the needed ) as of december 2017... So, 20m-21m in three quarters, in the 4th year!
