Hmm... I may load up an old save later (I left a save right before Endgame) and try it.  I never ran into that problem because my Micaiah typically uses Purge for Endgame.

And I'm glad we established that you're not an idiot.  (I never thought you were.)

This is taken away, because it is not suited for those over the age of 15.

I wrote something that was meant as a joke, but realized you were probably going to be offendd, so I took it away, and came up with a moronish excuse.

Also, if you've played some of the past Fire Emblems, you know that Lords are generally really good to the point of being some of, if not the, best units on the field.  Ike is no exception.  He should be awesome and he is.  Of course, you can't abuse his strength too much or everyone else becomes under-leveled.

In the recent Fire Emblem games this is true, but in the old (Japanese-only) ones, it most certainly was not. The fanbase even coined the term "sucky leader syndrome" to describe how bad the lords usually were, and it was as much of an archetype of the series as the "Jeigan" character! Obviously Ike doesn't fit this pattern, but Mars (of FE1 and FE3) definitely does. It's funny how everyone who's only encountered him from Smash Brothers thinks he's this great character, when those who actually played the old games remember him as one of the weakest units in your army.

We shall not talk about Roy or the ilk that came before him.

Anyone know the answer to my earlier question?

I noticed something interesting some time ago. When you kill Lekain (that's the first boss in the endgame part 4, right? Well, his spellbook says "A very strong light magic. It can only be used by someone with good intentions".

So he has good intentions? Also, Micaiah can't use it.

It seems fairly odd that they would just put that in without any reasoning..

*SPOILERS*

If you complete the game a second time and get the extra scenes involving Lekain it shows that he did have good intentions originally and you also have the choice having him fight on your team for the good of humanity if you do certain criteria. Lekain convinced the goddess to give mankind a second chance hundreds of years before the game takes place and he watched over people until he decided people sucked and wanted to re-awaken the goddess early.

No, that is Lehran isn't it? I always thought it was.
