Thanks BengaBenga..

Important tip: you can kill the members of the other party when you have to fight them without having them killed. I didn't know that, so I tried to save them, which was a waste of effort andEXP

i DOUPLECHECK..So if i confront maybe Jill in battle and her is not My current group(example Greil Mercenaries) i can kill her and still i can use her later in the game?

Exactly. As long as you used that character before in a battle he or she cannot die when that person is the enemy. You can't kill that character anyway, he or she will flee once you won.

So in Jill's example: If you used Jill in a battle with the Dawn Brigade and you face her with Ike's team you can fight her without any danger to Jill.

You could try the Shinning Force games on VC there are from the mega drive era. Really great SRPG.

Thanks for reminding me. I've been recommended the Shinning Force series before and they completely slipped my mind. I've heard all 3 are great.

Thanks BengaBenga..
So off i go to kill my future and current team mates..:)

By the way..it is off-topic. has anyone played the gba Fire emblems..Are they worth buying for?

Yep they're very good. The first one involves some exploration but not too much. I like console games more, but the GBA ones are definitely worth buying. The DS will have a remake of the first (I actually hope the first 2, since they're one game) Fire Emblem that appeared on the NES.

Oh and Crabmaster if platform is of no concern I say Disgaea, Final Fantasy Tactics and Suikoden (Suikoden is not really SRPG, but close).

We're over 6 pages! Fire Emblem can compete with all games except Brawl on VGChartz!

Platform is definately no concern so bring on recommendations for any system no matter how old. I've got all the mainstream ones so as long as its not on an obscure system i'm good to go. Handheld games would be a huge bonus however, becuase ill have much more time to sink into them. I have a friend whos got Suikoden I - V and tactics, and he would probaly be willing to lend them to me. Which one would you recommend?

Im looking forward to the DS one too. I get a lot of time at work (no internet at home so whenever you see me online im at work!!) and can easily bring handhelds so ill definately purchase that. Im going to see if I can track down the GBA Fire Emblems and maybe Final Fantasy tactics once I do a little more research on it.

What did you mean by exploration for the GBA games Benga? Could you elaborate on that for me?

I only had 2 characters from the Greil Merchanaries in the end I believe.

I use the people I like the most, not the best, so my final group wasn't awesome.

Greil's

Ike
(I didn't put Haar here as he was more used in Royal Crimea missions)
Rolf

Dawn Brigade's (my favourite group)
Micaiah
Edward
Leonardo
Sothe
(Jill, as she came later on I posted her here)
(Zihark)

Royal Crimeans:
Haar
Elincia

Laguz:
Tibarn
Reyson

I just noticed that you had 2 archers in your final team. I find that unusual. They needed a lot of focus to bring to a useable level for the late parts in the game so it would have taken a long time to nuture two of them. Plus you didnt pick Shinnon. He probably the lamest character of the three in terms of development and story involvement but hes totally the best of the bunch. If you play through on Hard Mode I strongly suggest bringing Shinnon as opposed to the other along for the ride.

Man, I haven't had any time to play lately. It's exam time for me, and I can't really justify setting aside 1+ hours in order to play. Next week though, I will.

I personally like Suikoden II and III the most, but if you have them all I'd start at I. I haven't played Tactics, but in general people are not very enthousiastic about it.
Cool thing about Suikoden is that you build a base and just like Fire Emblem there are loads of characters to find. It's a little more RPG than FE.

Two archers in the endgame might indeed be a bit too much, although I found it no problem to level them.
Rolf was my main archer and he was insane, he killed a dragon in one turn and he could kill every boss in one turn (except the last one of course).
I used Shinnon in the Oliver level and I used him and Rolf to block the pathway up, where all these reinforcements come. I had Shinnon, who was a bit neglected due to my Rolf-love, from 12 to 17 in that battle alone.

Im a big RPG fan so the fact that Suikoden is more RPG than FE isnt a concern for me. Ill talk to my friend a bit and see if I can grab them from him. I need to get my Game room set up first though because at the moment I only have access to my Wii and DS.

As for Archers Shinnon is king in my opinion. His defense is insane. When I played through in Hard Mode he has the same Defense stats as Ike. He could go out on his own and take 2-3 hits depending on what attacked him. That includes the level filled with dragons in the endgame. He was my Number one ranked player during the credits for my Hard Mode playthrough. Just equipped him with Aether and Renewal and I never even had to worry about healing him. Also if he has a bow with a range of 3 you never have to worry about equipping him with Nihil for the endgame parts because the bosses cant retaliate.
