I was pretty hyped for it before playing the platinum demo. I never got a chance to play episode duscae so the platinum demo is the only hands o impression I have of FFXV.
Sad to say it's one of the worst demos I've ever played. I understand that much of it doesn't represent what the full game will be all about, but it definitely made me decide not to preorder. I have a very wait and see approach now regarding this game.
It's rather disturbing to see a company who knows it has so much riding on this game's performance, and has had so much time to prepare it's rollout (even doing that rather big event for the release date reveal), give the green light on a (tech) demo that does such a poor job representing their product in a good light. Especially given that they had, what seemed like to me, a much better demo in duscae that they could have simply updated and released to everyone. I mean ya, all the hardcore FF fans got to play that already by purchasing Type 0 at launch, but those aren't the people who need to play it, cus they're gonna buy your game anyway, and you've already admitted this game needs to be like the best selling FF to date just to make a profit. So you REALLY need to impress your nonfans, and imo you've done very much the opposite.

And FF14 was generally considered a failure compared to 11 until they relaunched it.
