Pokemon

Pokémon movies are already a thing, there's one every single year, they are managed by The Pokémon Company and most of the latest one suck BADLY, still they will never let anyone else manage the manufacturing of a Pokémon game so it's lost cause...

Wooosh. Everyone knows Pokemon movies are a thing, which is what the joke was

Transformers 4 was horrendous. However, that didn't stop it from doing excellent in the box office

So? Would it be ok for you if Nintendo started making bad games as long as they sold well?

That wasn't my point.

Everyone here knows profits matter most. Nintendo won't make a movie if they won't gain much from it.

Besides, I'm sure that they would never let their video game characters be in a bad movie. They want their movies to boost game sales, not hurt game sales and franchises

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Metroid.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Live action: none.

Animated: Metroid.

Metroid would be the smartest choice. The purpose is to make these franchises more popular and well known. Metroid has the perfect premise to do that. It would especially be able to tackle a type of action movie you just don't see in the CGI "cartoon" style they've said they're going for.

Samus could be their Tony Stark in that way.

I think Samus being their Ellen Ripley is more appropriate.

Not for the comparison I was making. Ironman wasn't the bombshell franchise it was until the movie, and that was solely because of RDJs portrayal of Tony. That popularization of a previously unpopular hero opened the door for other Marvel heroes to star in their own movies, eventually leading to the eventual Avengers movie and the smash success of Marvel's cinematic universe.

I'm saying Nintendo should do that, with Metroid heading the pack the way Ironman did the same for Marvel. All in the same Smash CGI art style. They'd have a flavor of movie unlike anything out there. CGI "kids" movies that aren't strictly comedies but action movies.

Samus is literally Nintendo's super hero in the most stereotypical way, so they could easily take advantage of that. They could easily make a trilogy. Metroid would focus on the Metroids and Samus' origin story. Metroid 2 would focus on the Space Pirates. Metroid 3 (Super Metroid hurdur) would focus on Mother Brain.

I say the make three movies:

Metroid first.

The Legend of Zelda second.

And third, Star Fox.

Keep the stories for each in a separate canon from the games. Give the artists full creative freedom. And definitely do not just retell the story from the games. And obviously all the characters need to talk.

Once those three have established themselves, make a Smash Bros movie. That will simultaneously be Mario's movie. Mario as a character and as a setting doesn't lend himself to his own movie, but he would be perfect if introduced as the leader of the Super Smash Bros.

Then after that, they can add to it. A Luigi's Mansion movie to flesh him out after he's introduced in Smash. An F-Zero movie like Speed Racer meets super hero movie. Etc. Characters like Donkey Kong and Kirby don't lend themselves to movies because the canonically don't talk. It's not even implied like with Link. There's so much they can do.

I left out Pokemon because it's just not gonna happen. If Nintendo is Disney with Marvel, TPC is Sony with Spider-Man. I'd love a Nintendo cinematic universe Pokemon movie, but there's no chance that's happening. It would be awesome though. With Red being the protagonist and catching all of the Smash Pokemon: Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Greninja, and Lucario, with Mewtwo being the antagonist who Red eventually catches at the end or something. A movie of an entirely separate canon from the anime.

But TPC can't make good decisions anymore.

Mario doesn't really need his own movie. He's already ubiquitous. It's the same reason you don't see Disney making Mickey Mouse movies. He doesn't need one.

But Nintendo already had their first movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108255/

The original and best.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I think Nintendo should focus on cartoons/anime

Starfox has so much potential in that space. It would also make it easy to expand starfox beyond an onrails shooter in the future.

They need to basically get kids hooked via tv to sell their games.

Movie I agree Punchout would be cool. I wouldn't anime it because we already have Hajime no Ippo so no need atm.
