With MGS4, GTA4 and other great games this year this is a good decision.

You're kidding right?

April: GTA4
June: MGS4
Christmas:..............

Hmmm, let me think, when is the most important time to have a big game out?
(360 will have Gears of War 2, not exactly a small fish).

If you are going to troll at least look at what games are coming out and make a better argument....pathetic.

Nothing Sony has coming in the second half of this year is even in the same league as Gran Turismo. MGS, at best, is more comparable to a game like Gears of War while Gran Turismo is in the league of Grand Theft Auto.

You know, this reminds me. Where the hell is GT4 Mobile for the PSP?

I hope similar things don't happen to GT5.

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't wanna waste $40 on a glorified demo, i want to spend $60 on the full game. I can't wait that long to play it.

In before Delaystation..........

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Think they mentioned it takes months to do 1 car or maybe it was 1 track can't recall. Honestly I think the timing is about right since it was taking them 2-3 years on the PS2 it must be 4-5 years for the PS3 to do what they want.

If I recall correctly it was 180 days to make one GT5 car.

I did a google search for 180 days gran turismo this is what i found

* Yamauchi said for GT1, one car was one day’s work for one man, GT3 was one man’s work for 30 days, and GT5 one car is one man’s work for 180 days!

for one man. I'm sure there are a couple of teams with 3 or 4 men.

And this is why Nintendo will win over developers in the longrun.  That kind of detail and work required is not sustainable from a business development standpoint.

fixed.

Sometimes developers need more than a slightly updated Gamecube to express their art, passion and vision. Otherwise, we would have games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, COD4 and GT5 on the Wii. But wait... those type of games that take alot of work and detail to create don't sell well nor do business make any profit from them at all..... errr wait!

It is bad but I still believe the PS3 will survive to this new delay.

lol what delay, GT5 never had a release date.  Its the whole industry in general being stupid enough to think they know when things will launch.

Maybe this will push more people to buy Prologue.

I would think that this is quite possibly their purpose.  GT5 may very well make this year, but they're not going to say that now, they want people to buy Prologue.

Mars has a point, GT5 never had a release date. Therefore, it has never been delayed.
Anyways, as long as Polyphony delivers the goods, they can take as much as time want. It's not like they don't know what they're doing.

Darconi - I agree with you. The ones that want to make a quick buck and target stupid teenie boppers will go to nintendo. (Do a game search for hannah montanna)

But the ones who want to create art and love gaming and pushing technology to its edge... Like Kojima, SE, and Polyphony will always show support for Ps3/360
