I probably won't stop completely but it'll suck not getting a full lifespan on the front end out of the PS4. Cannot do PC as I don't like to keep an eye on framerates to see if I need to upgrade or checking the specs for new releases to run well or be adjusting crap and installing drivers and such. |
If you can stomach 30fps and console settings, you won't have to worry abôut watching framrates or upgrading for most of the gen if you buy a mid range card. Just lock it at 30 and be done. Messing around with settings should be simple as well, but you'd still have to do it once for each new game, as presets just don't cut it.

No, not really. I'm currently playing the Witcher 3, which has already made it onto my list of þe best games I've ever played, and I recently beat Hyper Light Drifter, which was phenomenal! I actually have high hopes for Nintendo in the near future, and though I'm fīnding less and less games that grab my attention from virtually every big publisher, there are plenty of great titles on the Horizon: Kingdom Come, Below, HOB, Ruiner, Eitr, Pyre -- and that's just off the top of my head. I'm not a huge gamer, so just those games should keep me occupied for a good long time -- but I have a huge frickin' list with tons more.

Not after playing Overwatch! Fap Fap Fap

Not at all. There are plenty of good games to play and gaming is cheaper than ever.
Honestly, I'm just really pleased that I didn't turn out to be one of those people who constantly whine about how much better gaming used to be in the old days while they restrict themselves to one company or a handful of genres. Some of those people just sound bitter that things change. I enjoyed gaming then and I enjoy it now, even though the types of games I play has largely transformed. But you know what? I can do that. I can enjoy more than one type of book, video programming, or game. I'm not afraid to expand. I started with Combat for Atari and today I played an FPS on PC and a puzzle/RPG on console--and I had fun with both.
Sometimes I can't help but laugh at the stuff people complain about. "I won't play this one genre because it's popular! I'm against that genre! I'm against M-rated games! I'm against brown! I'm against this company! I'm against that company! I'm against new business models!" Yeah, yeah, we get it. If you look for reasons to not have fun then guess what?
I can't speak for anyone else but I'm having fun.

I wrote a post about how the market became too focused on technology instead of creating games and how theres always less genres and games beeing made... but i realised i could tell you something wiser to you and everyone else.
What you are experiencing is normal. As you get older, you realise the world isnt here to please you. The feeling will only get worse. You can only let it go or not care. Hold to your convictions, but realise they are yours and you can't change the world. Keep to what you have (like gaming collection). I find that by having a gaming collection with my favorite titles, i don't care if the games market goes tits up. I will have what i love to relive the dream.
I've seen some game companies I loved go down paths I don't want to follow but I have also seen and still see others make decisions I love and support.
overall I think gaming is in a good place right now. Personally I think PC Gaming and Mobile gaming are the best they have ever been. Playstation and Xbox are both proving Consoles still have incredible value and our money is worth a lot more with great indies, DLC value with games like The Witcher and Fallout.
If you know where too look losing faith in gaming should be somewhere at the end of your list :)

Well I mainly game on PS4 so I have no reason to lose faith.
I'm not.
My biggest issue is working too many hours.
When you get home I just want to watch sports or tv shows, so no thinking required.
