Forums - Sales - Prediction: Uncharted 4 has already surpassed Halo 5's sales by 1 million

As I am writing this, Uncharted 4 has nearly 3,000 user review on meta: http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/uncharted-4-a-thiefs-end?ref=hp

Halo 5 has only 2100: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/halo-5-guardians

Simply outstanding from SONY.

Basing this on number of user reviews?lol

No.It will outsell it, but nowhere this fast.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

User reviews tell us how many people are interested in the game. It's a good measure of interest. I am a sales analyst at a F500 company. I want to see your credentials.

As Halo 5 sold around 3 mill so far and Uncharted 4 has 50% more user reviews than Halo 5, I'd say Uncharted 4 sales are at 4.5 million right now.

I put it at 4 million to be conservative.

4 million in 3 days? Even the most liberal estimate's are far lower.

And basing it on user reviews seems to be a stupid metric, as QB has 1327 reviews, but isn't close to even 1 million: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/quantum-break

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Games that flop (Score far below hype) get less sales than what number of user reviews indicate.

Games that score well and meet the hype sell better than what number of user reviews indicate.

No offense, but that literally means nothing.

Is that Pachter in your profile picture? Explains a lot.

Pachter is my role model. He's an outstanding analyst with a solid track record.

He predicted the NX will be weak and will launch March 2017. Everyone laughed then.

:D

You had me going for a second!

No offence, but if you are really serious about being a sales analyst, you must not be good at your job.At least if it involves the videogame industry.

If you were to put that logic, GTA 5 on PS3 should have sold only roughtly the double of Halo 5(so around 8 millions), but low and behold, it sold more than 20 millions, 5 times higher than Halo 5 in one system.

I dont know if you are new to the industry or not, but videogame works very differently than the other mediums, at least on more "hardcore" sites as metacritic, neogaf and the like, in which only core gamers participate(read:people that really likes games). And as you may or may not know, fans go to extremes to promote a game they love, or go to extreme to piss on games they hate. And uncharted is no different. Those 3000 ratings in metacritic are just diehard fans that rated the game just to promote/piss on it, and they most likely didnt play the game yet or just barely played it.Thats how things work on these sites.
