from my experience the best game film adaptions do not simply copy EVERY thing from them. For example, look at the terrible Prince of Persia film... just because it LOOKS right doesn't magically make it work. you have to take some liberties and change things to a video game to adapt to film properly
it concerns me that half of this trailer was LITERALLY just token moments that gamers would obviously recognize (i.e. the scaffling over rooftops, the leap of faith jump, etc.)
Its a movie and generally you try to ADD to a video game story or plot when transitioning that way to make it more cohesive. I think one of the weaker things about the Assassin Creed games actually has been the PLOTS. They can be a bit boring or "who cares" at times, with the only concern of the player being missions and killing people and not caring a ton about the background due to poor writing
if the film follows in the series footsteps with style over substance then it will fail
