Idk they did delay Miitomo by... 6 months!
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Exactly, I think people are looking at this too much like it wouldn't take 6 extra months for an angry bird game for cell phones, which I mean sure, but if they were creating actual software with substance it would.
That said I absolutely do NOT think it's a smartphone add on or anything of that sort.
Actually I would not mind a MOGA type controller that holds your phone. Apple's not so new A9 ARM processor is MORE powerful than the Wii U.
To complete the family of NX systems would be a powerful Ouya type box for your TV set.
Ouya failed because they had the same games everyone already had on mobile. We all know Nintendo has the games.
The controller would bluetooth to your phone, your tablet and your NX TV box. Buy the game once and you have access to it on all your devices using the NX controller.
This setup would be cheap and popular with the casual crowd and also with more serious gamers too.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

If it adds on to a smart device -- we won't have the necessary hardware to actually run modern games. If it adds on and accelerates a smart device -- its going to have masssssssiiiivvvvvveeeee compatibility issues. |
how about something like that? the controller makes almost all the process. and the mobiles would get an app(for windows phone, ios and android) that would exchange data with controller. Depending on the demand (capabilities/power of the mobile), the controller would pass different data for the mobile device. The app would simply render on the needed resolution or apply the AA or upscaling, so, most part would be processed by controller and some by the mobile. So, a dedicated app would manager and add sme power to the controller. that way i think compatibility wouldnt be a problem... A tv dongle would also get this app, also some features like netflix...
Please stop these prediction threads.... they are annoying.

I could have sworn I saw this same prediction thread on two separate occasions in the past.

Miitomo relies on My Nintendo and the rewards system though, it's more likely that the latter wasn't ready as opposed to the app.

The NX has as much chance of being a breakfast cereal than an add-on controller for smartphones
