Forums - Sony - Uncharted 4 turned my PS4 into a Jet Engine [My Solution]

okay lets get down to business; so while I was playing Uncharted 4 (I'm up to Chapter 8), everything is fine and dandy until I took off my wireless surround sound headphones. My PS4 fans was on afterburner and it scared me cause this never happened to me before. I thought I was gonna hit mach 3..

Anyways, has this happened to anyone else on Uncharted 4? By the way my PS4 is mounted vertically on a stand.

sounds like it's time to renew the thermal paste

That happens everytime you go to the ACC in Metal Gear Solid V. PS4 starts going crazy for some reason. I'd say it's normal...but then again there could be a problem with the machine.

I had that in table top racing, yet it is fine in Dirt Rally. Doesn't make sense.
It does sound like it's going to take off, the pitch keeps getting higher and higher.

Even new Doom(full game) made my PS4 sounds like jet engine. xD

After an online match is complete in street fighter 5, ps4 always gets louder for me.

Strange I've not noticed the PS4 make too much noise, do you not have any sound other than the headphones while gaming? I wouldn't worry too much about it though, the console will auto power off if it gets too hot, could be an idea just to lay it flat and make sure there is enough room behind and under it (not on carpet) and that the back vents aren't pointed into a closed unit.

(should point out that my PS4 is next to my Day 1 X360.... so by comparison to that thing thunder sounds fairly quiet ! )

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

To be expected when you push hardware to its limits

Cleaning the PS4 and removing the dust from the inside helps making it quiter in general. I wish if the PS4 had a similar feature as the PS3 where you could make the fan run in a maximum speed for a few seconds to remove the dust.

Yes!! I thought it only happened to me on that exact section of the game. However, it's not as loud as my PS3 Super Slim. After I installed Grand Theft Auto V for the first time, it got Harrier jet loud as soon as I began gameplay. From that point on, it was a common occurence for my PS3. And if I dared to insert another game while the fan was loud, it could get even louder and vibrate, which slowed down my console to a crash. Didn't even let me turn off the console properly.
