True, their show wasn't the best, but that only matters because it's an e3 show and pr wise e3 is like putting all your eggs in one basket when the world has moved on.

Nintendo's consoles don't get much third party and are on both their way out so it would never have been the good year for them, but:

If they had kept starfox a secret. If we hadn't got such a good mario maker demonstration the day before. If they had shown more games such as bravely default 2 and errr Paper Mario. :P

That is all their fault, but this should be a trivial judgement issue that doesn't get blown out of proportion. Other games can be easily be revealed at a later date. It gets blown out of proportion though for no other reason than it being E3.

E3 is important for anyone other than hardcore Nintendo fans, lol.

LOL, E3, is the most important gaming event of the year, Dozens of millions of people follow the E3, because of that the companies use their best weapons, their trump card, and release it to the world, and no other conference is more important than E3, what we had from Gamescom last year ?, and what we had from E3 ?, just see the announcements and they will tell what conference is the more important.

...well... This is kind of a weird thread... E3 is important because tons of games are announced and platform owners lay out their plans for the next year. Also, the west coast of the United States is where all the tech companies are located... Not to mention lots of big important cities, including the biggest city in the country...

They are completely connected, if someone have a big game they will reveal it at E3, and them the main public will see and purchase it, The marker isn't like this only Hardcore gamers follow gaming news every day but the average consumer only see the gaming news on some sites like IGN and in some events like E3, Nintendo is the market leader of the Handheld market and this is worldwide not just in Japan 3DS sold more than 20 Millions of units in Japan, as you can see in this other thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=212228 Nintendo is the biggest publisher of Japan every year since 1998,  and  don't atend to TGS isn't enought to take that away from them, but the Worldwide market is much bigger and change much faster than Japan, if someone make any mistake then the competition use the mistake against them and take their Market Share.

Because E3 is more of a press release type event so the public can't just go, unlike Gamescom
