Ludwig's Blade is OP as crap and I recommend it. Built STR as much as you can and after a few Chalice Dungeons, you can start building SKL as well.

yeah it is OP, i leveled up a lot of weapons and Ludwigs was by far the best, its also quick (for heavy weapons) and has good length. i only have one character through and i focused my upgrades on skill, strength and health.

even from the old hunters, Ludwigs blade is still the best (the moonlight sword isnt prett bad though)

Well then... better start grinding. :/

first play through?

dont grind, either go to chalice dungons (they are meh, but still better than grinding). or play PvP which can net a lot of blood echos.

or you can play Co-op. help hunters in other worlds, beating the boss will get you some extra blood echos.

You know i've never tried the online. lol. What do you recommend though? Calice, PvP or Co-op?

Ño. If you have a str based character is not worth using that sword. It's not gonna work well with it. I actually had to create a new character to use the blades of mercy for the same reason.

dont do Co-op if you havent reached a boss in an area, thats my advice, because it kinda takes away from exploring the area by yourself, and takes away from that sense of "i better not fucking die" that bloodborne has. but if you reached a boss in an area, and opened up the short cuts, you could fight the boss to help others.

thing is, lately i been having a real hard time finding people to co-op with on match making, maybe its my level, maybe its the time i play, dont know. remember, there is a bell where you invite others, and a bell where you go to help others, inviting others to help you consums 1 insight, but helping others doesnt.

i say play chalice dungons, you might as well try them out, and in doing so you gain some blood echos (remember to put the Moon rune's if you have any). but dont play chalice dungons that are beneath your level, it will bore the shit out of you. you can play Co-op in chalice dungons, and that might be pretty fun. (i never did so, for some reason)

PvP i would say is my fav, its not the fastest way to earn bloodechos, but it certainly is a fun one. you must be in an area where you havent defeated the boss, and also, dont go far away from your lantern, so if you die, you can easily go and pick up your echos.

i have recently become obssessed with bloodborne, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. even if its about lore, secret locations, characters or bosses, or any tips. i wont spoil anything for you that you wouldnt want to know.

Thanks, man! I guess i'll do the chalice dungeons. Oh, and what gun do you think I should using at this point? I'm currently using the blunderbuss. Should I just keep that until the end?...

Also the lore does look really interesting. I wouldn't mind hearing what its about. No spoilers though. lol. I just beat the Blood Starved Beast.

honestly i am not much help when it comes to rifles, as i mostly used heay weapons and what ever block rock/stone/shards i had i mostly used on upgrading main weapons, not rifles, i used the ludwigs rifle though, it was enough for me to pary with.

okay, i wont spoil anything, but i will try to give tips on where to start when exploring the lore. now to be honest, i understood pretty much next to nothing from the lore in my first play through, but i was interested in knowing what the hell happened, so i watched some videos on youtube about the lore, and i watched a lot as i was really interested in it.

" Seak Paleblood to trancend the hunt".

you might remember this as the first note you read, way back in Iosefka's clinic. you probably dont understand what the hell that means (i didnt either), but i will tell you this. Blood. Blood is a big part of the story, understand what it does, where it came from and why its a big part of yharnman. seak knowledge about the blood, and it will set you on the path to understanding the story of what happened/is happening. which i will say, is a very interesting, deep and rather horrifyingly beautiful story IMO.

this next thing is a tip, its not really spoilerish, but you might not do it, or make a mistake that would make you miss out, i will spoiler tag it, in case you want to discover things all by yourself.

after the second boss, Father Gascoigne (you already beat him) you will enter a chapel like area with a lantern, a small creature with red clothing is on the right, dont kill it, but talk to it, exaust its dailoge, it will tell you some stuff, remember it when talking to other NPC's

if you want me to tell you more, i will. i wont say major spoilers, but i would help set you on the path to try find things for yourself, things i missed on my first play through.

piece of advice though, when talking to any NPD, always.. always exhauste their dailogue, keep talking to them until they repeat their last sentence again, so you get the most out of them.

I didn't even release there was someone in Gascoigne's boss room. I'll go back later and check it out. I sort of have a vauge idea of whats going on the in the world but the details would be welcomed. I assume Hunter's Dream plays a big part in the story.

I just got the Ludwig's blade. The range and stagger is awesome but I figure i'm going to need a lot more Skill to so serious damage.

Oh, and what the fuck is that giant invisible monster that grabs you randomly from anywhere in the game and kills you with one hit? Its starting to piss me off.

Just get naked, and use the weakest and shortest dagger or stick you can get.
That's how you play a Souls style game!

I'm joking because I can't seriously help you but still wanted to join it... XP

Pervy Sensei, what's this I hear?!  You no play Bloodborne?! 0_0

he isnt in the gascoigne boss room, he is in the catherdral ward. i didnt explain properly enough. though, it wouldnt hurt to do a quick search of gascoignes boss room.

you are still early in the game, dont worry to much about your level, you will level up a lot as you go through with the game. remember to upgrade you weapons with bloodgems as well as regular upgrades.

regarding the invisible monster

what it is? you will see in time. as you progress through the game you will know what it is.

can you kill it? No.

how to avoid it? easy, just run/dodge when you hear it coming for you, it just comes at very specific locations.

is it related to the story? Yes in a way. if you understand what it is, it can help you understand the lore.

there is an area that you might have discovered (considering you finished the blood starved beast) where there is a huge door and that thing keeps appearing. that area is for later, so dont worry about it.

also some none spoilish tips

if you see a lit lantern next to a door/window, or light emitting from inside, it most likely means you can go and talk to people behind those doors/windows. you might have missed a few in the first area, and there are some in the area you are at currently.

in case you never played a souls game before. when you finished the game, it jumps directly to a NG+, so dont finish it if you arent done doing stuff. (it will be very clear when it is the end of the game).

Keep the axe its faster
