Since I don't think the NX processor will be made on 14nm and Zen will only be made in that process, no, I don't think so.

What you say would make sense of the yields on 14nm were bad but I have only heard that the yields are good, not great like 28nm but the less silicon you use the cheaper it will be in the long run.

Yields aren't bad, but we don't know if production is high enough to guarantee supply for everybody.

Please excuse my bad English.

Doubt it. Personally, I think people are going to be disappointed in the NX specs when they are revealed (by breakdowns, of course.) Nintendo doesn't want a high price, but also wants they're new screen controller, so they're going to be sacrificing power. The specs will look OK next to the PS4, but not quite so hot next to the Neo.

Personally, I believe them with the games reasoning. They probably only recently got dev kits into 3rd parties' hands, so it'll be awhile before they are approaching anything presentable. Nintendo itself has struggled to pump out games at a constant pace, citing difficulty with developing HD games, so they may be struggling with using this much power. Trying to figure the best way to put it all to use and testing how far they can push it. Not sure if Nintendo has a dedicated team, like Sony's ICE, whose sole purpose is to play around with the HW, pushing it's limits.

Yeah it would make sense to at least start building interest at e3 with some teasers of NX games

That's why Zelda is the focus and the only game on the showfloor.

NX doesn't need to match the Neo, only XBO/PS4. The Neo wont be getting any games those consoles wont, atleast it better not!

That doesn't explain why no E3 appearance, as Nintendo has revealed games even when they're only 10% complete.

There are many more reasons why NX wont use zen:

Why would AMD put their top of the line new cpu in a low margin console business, the first thing they will use it for is servers which are high margin.

Second, they probably cound'nt make enough of them for this holiday season.

Third, it would make the NX much more expensive which is counter to Nintendo's philosophy.

It may still be x86, just not zen, like a beefed up carizzo or something.

Using New tech doesn't mean using the most high spec stuff available. My guess is Nintendo will use the bottom of the range Zen CPU (most likely a quad core) paired with the bottom of the range Polaris descrete GPU (470/x)

Which would make it cheap.

the dreams... everywhere these fantasies... sure that's the reason... because Nintendo fans are known for wanting to pay 500/600 Eur/Usd for their hardware as bleeding edge is Nintendo's middle name :)

i'll bring the popcorns later this year when they show the realistic price and specs of the machine

Why are people so determined to not take Nintendo at their word? They said the games wouldn't be ready earlier than that... why would they tell such a trivial lie to their investors?

This! Gamers today just can't read!!!

I didn't want to post this thread but it seems most people overlooked this as a possible reason for Nintendo's march console launch.

And just for those who didn't know ZEN APU's are due next year.

I hope so.  I also hope the reason they chose to basically pass on E3 with the NX was because they didn't want to tip their hand to Microsoft or Sony and give them enough time to mimic some of the features of the NX before they release their console upgrades.  Would explain why they keep on saying they're being secretive because they don't want the competition to steal their ideas.

Lol neither Sony nor Microsoft have anything to steal from Nintendo which is at 3rd place right now. Also the PS4 Neo is about to be mass produced, if it isn't already, to build up enough stock for the holiday period so whatever gimmick Nintendo decides to add to their console will have no time to be on the mid cycle upgrades of 3 year old consoles.
