I really dont get these armchair analyses.
People just don't understand the new direction, somehow. I can't blame people, not many people read my threads.
NX is going to target the casual and the core in a new way. It's going to integrate the cellphone audience, by acting as a gateway for those new smartphone games nintendo is releasing as well as capitalizing on the "quality of life" direction by further integrating amiibo and potentially other peripherals. NX is going to be a tablet like solution to the wiiU problem, wherein the wiiU was tied to a single tablet and couldn't be replaced or bought separately.
There will be a console, independent from the tablet, and a tablet independent from the console. They will be able to function together as a single unit, or a solution to take your gaming on the go. It will be similar to how people expected the vita to act, as a ps3 on the go. Except this will actually work. You will play at home and then take your tablet with you and continue playing the game without wifi. Meanwhile it will have support from the smartphone developer apps, so it won't be reliant on big establishment games. You will have your cheap games, and your big first party games.
It's really going to be a big deal.
Unfortunately, I can see myself buying one, which means it might not resonate much with the casual audience, because I am anything but. Hopefully, it will be an alternative to buying your kid a tablet with total internet access, what with the internet not being incredibly child/pc friendly.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
