The First Great Zeldelayed

After Nintendo announced that Zelda Wii U was delayed last year at March 27  we immediately got a Nintendo Direct at April 1st.

Expect the same to happen this year. With news that the NX will be missing this year E3, just like how Zelda was announced to be missing at E3 last year, Nintendo must be in damage mode and will want to control it with some announcements. 

Two things come into mind: 

1) A Nintendo Direct like last year that will probably happen next Wednesday

2) An announcement of when the NX press event will happen

Number 1 is logical because this what happened last year. But number 2 is logical for a variety of reason. First, NX won't be talked about at all this E3. But not saying anything for two more months will not go well with curious fans who had nothing else to look forward from Nintendo since the horrible E3 2015. Nintendo doesn't want to kill the hype for their next generation system AND they know that saying it won't be talked about at all during E3 is incredibly bad news and PR for their loyal fans who may have expected it to come out this year (just look at all the crow avatars lately). Because of this, expect Nintendo to announce when the NX press event is within a week from now or at least a Nintendo Direct next week.

If a NX conference is imminent like u said, then why not just put it at E3?

It is not imminent. But there will be an announcement of when it will happen to keep fans energized about it.

how will that keep them energised. it will be like being slapped in the face with a large trout.

Its more energetic than being in the dark for two months about a new game system you know is coming out next March.

No way are they having a direct, they don't have enough content for E3 as it is. Announcing when the NX will be revealed is possible and definitely a good idea since we were all expecting to hear about it by E3 at the latest so they needa give us a new date to look forward to. This might not happen until E3 itself kinda like how at last year's E3 they said they'd talk about it in 2016.

I dont think that is problem at all, revile NX at E3 is not best move because E3 will be filled with huge news, VR, PS4.5, maybe new Xbox...and NX would be just of one news and they wouldn't had whole intention for itself. Best way to reveal new console is on separate event where you will have full attention of industry just for itself, same thing Sony and MS done with PS4 and XB1. I expecting NX reavile in September/October.

No chance, NX is completely skipping E3 so there no point to have NX Press Conference/Direct before E3 and then not showing it later at E3.
Realistically we can expect revile in September/October (maybe at TGS in middle of September).

Read the OP again. I only said the date of the Press Conference will be announced.

My bad, but again I don't agree, because they will not revile NX in near future and there is no point to say date few months for revile in advance.
