Forums - Nintendo - Roll Call - A Feast of Crows

So you are really booking this as a win for the team captains gamemaster87 and bigtakilla? The guys who argued for a full five year life span of the Wii U, along with a 2017 of Wii U game releases? They are the winners because the NX launch date slipped into early 2017?

This sure is something else.

Well, I mean we DID win... So....

I'm sorry you believed "leakers" and made up your own minds on what the AMD chip that was supposed to bring in a profit at the end of this year meant, or that the Wii U WILL in fact be given longer than an exact 4 year life cycle. Maybe you shouldn't have bet if you weren't willing to lose. Just some good advice.

One does not feed crow to Rol... It upsets his stomach you see...

It happened yesterday actually. Lol.

Everybody loses, basically.
The 2016 crowd lose the bet and have to wait longer for NX.
The 2017 crowd get to say I told you so, but don't get the extra year of Wii U support they wanted.

Yeah, but it could be a great thing to get a console early... Nintendo just needs to convince me of this.

Don't be mad, Rol. The question was the year of the NX release, not the exact moment. If Nintendo had decided to release it 31st of december at 23:59, the 2016 band would have won, and release it a minute after, and the 2017 would have won. The rest of considerations around the NX and the WiiU are moot to the bet.

Also, you need a crow avatar too. Join the crow eaters.

IIRC it was about "putting your money where your mouth is", so the numbers merely represent which side of the argument somebody was on. The Civil War thread was created because of said lengthy arguments.

And then we had to bet on which year the NX came out on... You lost BTW.

So March 2017 is okay, but November 2016 is not?

You realize the intervening months will almost certainly be total nothingness and wasted space, right?

Well 2016 seemed like a rush job, and it seems like that was the exact case.

Four months isn't going to make that big of a difference. Except a longer wait with nothing to play.

Nov (typical release of consoles) to March is 5 months. But if we are specifically talking about Dec at 11:59PM to whenever the exact date the NX releases I would argue really only Nintendo knows.

I would also argue a longer wait is only in being able to purchase the console. They probably wanted to make sure a big budgeted game from them came first, and they may know for one reason or another that Zelda U won't be ready until March. Third parties crapping on them and making extremely cut up ports is a pretty big reason the first year of Wii U was so bad. It's sort of a way to remedy that.

November to March is 4 months; 1 to december, 2 to Jan, 3 to Feb, 4 to March.

And if Zelda U can't be ready until next March, the entire dev team should be fired for utter incompetence. They had 5 fucking years.

I'm here, but I feel like a winner tbh since our reasonings were correct and they were aiming for a 2016 release and it only didn't happen cause AMD or some other issue with the hardware, not because of anything the 2017ers said.
