Wonder if people still believe this is only the starter clothes and not the main tunic.

If this game takes place before Skyward Sword, we might not see the tunic or not until much later in the game. Maybe this game discusses the creation of the hero's tunic.

Nice observation.

It could very well be.

I really have hard time thinking this is main clothes, probably main clothes will be received in same later period of game.

They have announced and showed official artwork with Link always using the green tunic. And now they are going to show the starter clothes? No. This is the main tunic and one of the "changes" (lol) Aonuma promised.

Or it's the starter clothes and you're reaching. If they're doing anything close to what has inspired Aonuma, there will be MANY different clothing options a la Skyrim, so having a standard one is the best way to market for the time being.

Show me all those different clothes.

I can't see the image for some reason.

I'd be really surprised if Nintendo releases a Zelda game that takes place before Skyward Sword. I think that's supposed to be the origin myth.

@OP: I love the artwork, actually. It looks modern and different but still feels like Zelda.

I like it. One of the few characters I can say that looks very new. It's kind of scaring me that there's so much emphasis on the time shift arrows though. They're cool but I wouldn't try and build an entire game around it. Wheres the sword action???

I don't know about that I can see a lot of potential for that especially after the temple in SS where you use the time shift stones to manipulate the area. I can see different types of arrows with different effects, I like the fact that another piece of equipment is getting good focus now as it creates a platform for future games, we already know the will be sword play so why not develop other equipment just as much as the sword after all Link gets the bow in everygame as well.

SS did it right in having a few items that were used constantly so I can picture them following that same template only giving all of the few items as much development and lore as the Master Sword has.

I want Swordplay in HD though. You don't do your first HD Zelda game and don't capitalize on Swordplay. I mean, Link seems to have a huge sword in the teasers so I'm sure it'll be a huge part of the game. I just don't want to rely on aiming and shooting arrows for the entire game. It'll slow down the pace if overused.

We already know the will be swordplay it's a staple in the series the focus on archery just means the other equipment Link has will be just as important.

Ah, the classic "I don't see them therefore they don't exist."

I repeat: "Or, they're just starter clothes and you're reaching." They're going to show off the most immediately available clothes on the two pieces of promo art and three minutes of footage we've gotten in three years, because of course they are. They've told us literally nothing about the game, this is what they do. Remember how Fi wasn't even mentioned outside promo art for like three years?

Nintendo likes to be silent because they're weird. That doesn't mean everything you currently see is all there is. They're very likely going to do multiple armor bits, going by the tiny bits of info we've gotten showing the desire to expand side content and player immersion. Most likely the Green Tunic will be one of the later ones you get because there will be an extended sequence of you becoming the Hero, blah blah blah, and so on. But by most indications we'll see multiple clothing sets at least, leaving this outfit as the easiest to throw out to avoid spoiling big reveals, because Nintendo hates us and likes to hide everything.
