Or it's the starter clothes and you're reaching. If they're doing anything close to what has inspired Aonuma, there will be MANY different clothing options a la Skyrim, so having a standard one is the best way to market for the time being.

Show me all those different clothes.

Ah, the classic "I don't see them therefore they don't exist."
I repeat: "Or, they're just starter clothes and you're reaching." They're going to show off the most immediately available clothes on the two pieces of promo art and three minutes of footage we've gotten in three years, because of course they are. They've told us literally nothing about the game, this is what they do. Remember how Fi wasn't even mentioned outside promo art for like three years?
Nintendo likes to be silent because they're weird. That doesn't mean everything you currently see is all there is. They're very likely going to do multiple armor bits, going by the tiny bits of info we've gotten showing the desire to expand side content and player immersion. Most likely the Green Tunic will be one of the later ones you get because there will be an extended sequence of you becoming the Hero, blah blah blah, and so on. But by most indications we'll see multiple clothing sets at least, leaving this outfit as the easiest to throw out to avoid spoiling big reveals, because Nintendo hates us and likes to hide everything.
You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt! I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading. After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
