Assumption, nothing more. These days HD remasters are all the rage and Xenoblade would benefit more from an upscalling than just about any game ever.

You do know why they released as a New 3DS title right? To demonstrate its enhance power from the original 3DS? It's like with Star Fox 64 3D and Ocarina of Time 3D for 3DS, except to demonstrate use of 3D.
