It seems be agree on everything. My only concern is that announcing this news in the Direct might not be the most efficient method, which is why I've been straying away from talking about it. The directs might be one of the most watched gaming news methods on the internet.... but the media doesn't get a wind of it. You don't see it on the news or in the news paper, yet when Sony and Microsoft did their unveiling on a small scale, it was everywhere. The directs are great, but it doesn't reach a wide enough audience. It's focused more toward it's current audience and an outer influence around them.

That couldn't be farther from the truth. A direct isn't going to stop news of a new console from being covered. The Wall Street journal covered a hardware leak for the thing. They aren't going  to just skip the reveal because it was in a direct.

I was thinking more a long of an event like PAX or gamescon or something.  I personally thinkg that, that would benefit them. Even if it'll cost the m more. I just feel that should do something more traditional this year. Get it out there and then go back to the directs. Hopefully the NX can allow you to watch directs directly off your console with ease!

Sony and MS reviled PS4 and XB1 at separate events and that's best way to go, because they have full intention only for itself and they dont need to share attention with some other big news like if they if they would reviled it at E3.

Kimishima at last Investiture meeting at beginning of February:

"As for new businesses, we will present further information when we go into details about our forecasts for the next fiscal year. We do not plan to speak about NX today. We continue development and planning efforts for NX in preparation for launch, so it will require additional investment."

So we are definitely getting some NX infos next week.

Some people dont realise if Nintendo relly releasing NX this year, at investor meeting NIntendo will most likely provide some informations like:

-What NX is - Home console, handheld or both?

-When and where it will be fully revealed

-What year it will be released

-How NX will respond to the major challenges that are on the table.

-The challenge of rekindling developer interest

-The challenge of aligning it with the current market (smart devices)

-The challenge of performance (in relation to PS4(K) and Xbox One(.5))

Considering the post you just quoted, why would you still think that'd be better for them? As far as I can see there is no real benefit to a live showing, only cons such as possible mistakes and filler, hence why Nintendo hasn't had one for their main E3 event for the past three years.

I also agree.

It works both ways with reveals if they feel its that good it will blow the minds of everyone then an E3 reveal is the best as it will overshadow any hardware announcments from the other two generating more hype and taking the spotlight but could also lead to their hardware been the one in the shadow.

Difference is that E3 is all about news, even if NX is biggest news it want be only news (espacily with VR, PS4..), media and internet will talk about all news not just about NX, but revile at separate event meaning NX will have full intention only for itself, that will be only news. There is a reason why Sony and MS done exactly that, they had revile at separate events before E3 and again at E3 they had huge presence with some new infos and games, thats best way to go.

It would be nice.
