I guess they could do it depending on how much anger they think they're seeing from Wii U owners.

If you owned a Wii U maybe they could have a promotion of it you buy an NX in the first 6 months, you get a free game if you buy 2 other games + some free Virtual Console content, and/or a free mail in for an exclusive Amiibo.

I don't think the MK8 type promotion would do anything for NX. The system needs to be desirable and supported by a killer app. That's it. 2 for 1 game deals are pointless if no one wants the system.

I do think they should have some sort of peace offering for Wii U owners, like a game download or something that says, "hey, sorry we fucked up on that last system but thanks for buying it anyway".
