These estimates seem quite ridiculous.

PS3>360 seems ok but nobody knows.
3DS 50m ridiculous, Nintendo had 3DS at 50m at end of 2014
XB1 20m Other estimates put it at 19m
Vita 10m: Vita has ~9m official numbers, mostly JP,US,Spain. Would be hard to believe it sold 1m in the remaining countries...

Japan = 4.85m

USA = We have not NPD since a lot of times, but was >2m by end of 2014, should be >2.5m now.

Spain = 600K (As for June 2015)

JP+US+SPA have confirmed > 7.5 million. Though i agree 10m for Vita seem too low.

It actually seems like EEDAR tracking is even more guess work than VGChartz.

They have a huge number of very important clients. They've already made a name for themselves. 

EEDAR have access to more data than VGChartz and therefore have the capability to make a more informed estimate. For example, EEDAR have direct access to NPD.

One thing that is odd here is the 3DS number it seems too low, perhaps a mistake.

Is this article accurate or true....? It just seems like these numbers are....off to me. Especially compared to shipments and stuff. Maybe I am just tripping.

Do note that i'm not saying these numbers are 100% accurate, no market research firm can have truly 100% accurate numbers for sell through (global).

I'm just saying that EEDAR have access to thr data required in order for them to compile more accurate numbers than what VGChartz would be able to. 

If you want truly 100% accurate numbers then you can only get that by looking at recorded shipments from Platform holders to retailers. 

Of course. But from what you've said, this seems like a more accurate source then vgchartz. Then again, everyone has access to this site.

The only way those 3DS numbers make any sense is if you exclude sales of New 3DS & New 3DS XL.

That seems to be where the discrepency is coming from. It seems to only be counting 3DS, 3DS XL & 2DS.

Bit weird. Perhaps they forgot to add the NEW version sales.in.
