Forums - Sony - It begins: Sony stops Vita shipments to The Netherlands

I wonder if this happening or news of this will lower the sales of Vita a bit if people are worried that it will stop being supported by Sony (in terms of weekly sales and monthly psn+ games) to the system, would be a shame to see that happen considering that every week tracked on vgchartz so far this year it has been ahead of the Wii-U which squashed any chances for that system to surpass the Vita's sales, it's basically not a waiting game to see if the NX is due soon to end the Wii-U's life or Sony end up pulling the plug on the Vita from psn+ or stop including it in the bi-weekly sales (this past 2 week period didn't include any vita titles since it was a season pass sale) to decide between these 2 which will end up selling more.

what a load of BS. not only wii u already surpassed vita, it's utterly ridiculous to think a few weeks early in the year mean anything. vita always outsells wii u a little in the first months of the year but gets left behind later.

Maybe on whatever site you use since being banned from here, but on VGchartz forums it's live by the numbers here and die by them, so read the front page or better still don't, site doesn't need more banned alts. I'll look forward to the massive jump in Wii-U sales this holiday season though, should be a great christmas season.

I wonder if they 'll ever go handheld again

If they even consider doing that it should be an Android device. That way it can easily get support.

Anywho, I assume they will produce Vita for atleast a few years. For a niche platform it does okay. Sony doesent spend money marketing and they dont even make games for it.

That's a good point. Maybe they can lower the memory card costs.

It's kinda of a shame that whole Nintendo-Sony partnership fell apart, that was a nice little piece of hardware but it desperately needed a company like Nintendo behind it.

The what? Were they gonna team up on a handheld?

lol

decided to take a look at Amazon UK (edit: new pic)

15 units left of the standalone Vita slim. All bundles (except Adventure Mega Pack bundle with 10 units left) appear to be out of stock and sold by third party seller.

Strangely enough the original model (Vita 1000) appear to be in stock (4 units left). There is also an import Vita with 15 units left.

In other news I bought a vita yesterday. Pure impulse buy I still don't know what compelled me to buy the thing

Have you been a member of psn+ before? if you've been adding some of the games to your library you should check the store to see if any of the titles were cross buy so you could have the Vita versions of other games if you've bought them.

Nothing quite like Super Meat Boy, Bastion or Limbo on the Vita's OLED screen and all those titles are Cross Buy.

Congratz on the purchase though, I think arguably the best handheld console I've owned.

It's sad but honestly it was a matter of time considering it's not doing very well for quite some time now.
