They're hell bent on destroying any sort of legacy the WiiU could have :(
I'm hoping there are more actual new games than remasters though

They're hell bent on securing the NX a legacy better than anything the Wii  U could ever manage. The Wii U is a necessary Sacrifice. I Can't see the rematser effecting anything that would have been scheduled to arrive in the systems  first year. At most they will delay Smash Bros 5 and Splatoon 2 by a handful of months but Nintendo have outsourced recent remasters and I imagine they'll do the same here with the exception of Zelda.

Yea it seems like it I guess, but I don't see why you'd port stuff like splatoon :S

Hm... what they've could do is supporting 2 systems at once. One for a more casual audience which would be the cheaper one and one for enthusiast who are willing to spend more money for a more dedicated gaming audience with better more expensive hardware. Just a thought...

They couldn't bout would fail, Wii U and 3DS proved that they cant have strong support for two different platforms, and basically that was main reason about their plans about unified platform, they want to support just one platform with possible two hardwares, and not any more two completely different platforms.

I think Mario Maker, considering its widespread success and the fact that it would allow more maps to be created for the overall community, should be a no bainer. Heck, if it is only two games being ported, I'd bet (if this info leaked were to be true) that they would put Mario Maker on NX before Splatoon or Smash Bros. Zelda is a given, though.

Plus Mario Maker fills the gap for whatever "New Super Mario Something" title so that they can focus developing other titles such as a 3D Mario.

Yup. The community fills the void while Nintendo can go develop their own thing without time pressures.

Sounds like the process of TLoU from PS3 to PS4, so it's all good to me =)

And seeing as how there low Wii U owners I guess this would be good for newcomers to hit up on those gems.

Thanks to Emily for stating the obvious. I would've never guessed that these titles / franchises would show up on NX in one form or another.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

i dont understand why, PS4/XB1 have gotten Uncharted Collection, Master Chief Collection, Gears of War, God of War 3, Tomb Raider, Rayman Legends, The Last of Us, Saints Row IV, Resident Evil 5-6, Grand Theft Auto V, Devil May Cry 4, Injustice, and probably quite a bit more.

THANKYOU! I dont get the hate as well! Especially those who don't even have  a Wii U <----- Which should be a positive thing for them, since if they buy the NX, they have the opporunity to playe these awesome games. Especially if their is a drought coming.

I'm not mad about it, but how do you not get the hate? The PS4 has been shit on for years because of all of the remasters. If anything, the reception here has been better.

I'd like to think so as long as there isn't any added content that gives NX users a significant advantage.

Even if the game is not different, if the NX has a different archetecture, it would be a lot of work to make the 2 different systems compatible so not so sure about that..

Iwata: "...we are going to create a system that can absorb the Wii U architecture adequately. When this happens, home consoles and handheld devices will no longer be completely different, and they will become like brothers in a family of systems." Source (Q5)

...Interpret that any way you will!

These are the 3 obvious choices for having an NX version even I guessed these as possible titles, I'm not a fan of remasters but these 3 make sense given the type of games they are or the situation surrounding them.

Depends on what they're planning for Splatoon 2. If the system is really the power of the PS4, I can imagine Nintendo working a lot more with similations and building the game from scratch to incorporate fun physics. The single player has a lot of room to grow so I imagine they want to take that to another level. I don't they want to have another content light launch like Splatoon did on Wii U, they wanna start with guns blazing ala Smash Bros.  Essentially getting Splatoon 2 out right away (By summer next year) would not allow any  time for the team to experiment and  wouldn't allow the sequel to be ambitious.

A port will allow them to carry the community to NX pretty early, without having to rush the sequel. It  will also attract people who weren't interested in a Wii U but wanted to play the game (like me).
