We discussed this guy and and another one before Wii launch, and I still say these guys are so insightful, that the naysayers are in for a rude awakening.
I'm amazed there are still so many of them in early 2008. It was to be expected among developers, but I thought among players, they would all have disappeared.
I'm off to read the rest, these truly smart guys are always a pleasure to read.
Wow, there is so much crow to be eaten this generation, I cannot resist the urge to copy these here (will the videogame industry think of the crow?). No really, it's hilarious, they are of every part of the videogame industry, and they all have more than a mouthful of crow to eat :
“We expect the dominant console at the end of the next cycle to be the Sony PlayStation 3 primarily due to our assessment that Sony will win the high definition DVD format war,” –Michael Pachter, Senior Analyst of Wedbush Morgan Securities
“I think the Wii bubble is about to burst” -Steve Kent, Author of ‘Ultimate History of Video Games’
“Nintendo Revolution to be console winner this generation” –Gamespot’s 2006 April Fool’s Joke.
“[We] recommend that Nintendo abandon its traditional console-exclusive software publishing strategy and publishes its games across multiple platforms.” –Strategy Analytics, 2003.
WOW!
Here comes the master Nintendo fanboy :
“Videogames are technology-driven and yet Nintendo continues to dismiss new, important technologies. It's unfathomable. It's like a painter throwing away his paintbrushes because they are too expensive. I mean, I've tried to understand this approach, but I don't think it can be understood. No matter how you look at it, it makes no sense. Gloom and doom mostly over. I'm quite sure that despite this lunatic decision Revolution will have its unique appeal. It'll still have a place in my living room. But I think it will become more niche due to a domino effect that's sure to happen. I predict less third-party support because cross-platform ports are sure to be more difficult. And as a result, I'm sure Revolution -- like GameCube -- will become a console for Nintendo fans.” –Matt Casamassina. Senior Editor for IGN Nintendo (2005)
Seriously, these guys are all idiots. No wonder I stopped listening to these bunch of morons years ago.
I Love all his articles, so damn insightful. It makes the future look very promising. Right now we are stuck in a cycle of me too games which really is very boring, hell even the bionic commando game looks like a spider man game on steroids, (hope i am wrong about bionic commando by the way.)
Nintendo & Sony Supporter

That's a very good point - I'm very interested to see what he's got to say on this. Figures, the article that has me intrigued the most is likely to take MONTHS before it comes out!!!!!!! :(

I didn't post (or well, I just posted some of my favorite parts) nor did I write the article... so why are you @'ing me?
I love that GameSpot April Fools Joke. lol. The jokes on them!
Yeah it sorta makes you wonder why Matt and IGN and a lot of the press are so down on Nintendo, even when they run things. They predicted wrong, and got absolutely faced by Nintendo, twice in a row (they said DS would fail and be a gimmick and all thats hit too. Now it's the fastest selling console of all time, and just might break the PS2's record.) Who knows of all these bad review scores and general pissant attitudes towards the Wii are the results of sour grapes and bitter tears?

lol.
Man, this guy is so insightful, it's a delight to read him, I've even put around my gaming session.
I love reading people that use their brain, it's refreshing.
"Nintendo hid their business strategy by placing it in plain sight."
That's what I was saying some time ago, it's so obvious when you're not caught up in all these myths and nonsense.
"The motion controller is not the disruption; it is the software working with the controller."
So true! Look at all the trolls that say the wiimote is useless and a marketing trick.
While I go back to play No More Heroes, which, to me, is one of these glorious examples of synergy between the software and the controller. So amazing. While you will see the reviews talking about the empty streets of Santa Destroy, of poor graphics, the gamers will just enjoy the new experience.
If you don't like No More Heroes, there's Zack and Wiki, or already several others.
I just love this guy, really.
