Wow I do not agree with most neogaf users posting in that thread. But read post #330 by JayWood2010 (wasn't he vgchartz user also?) and that is what I'm thinking, sums it up perfectly. Balanced, distinctive Gears mp is a way to go even for gathering new fans imo.

Yeah traditional versus was pretty bad for a Gears game. They pretty much changed and fucked up everything that makes Gears so original and brutal. It was a high speed run 'n gun nonsense, no CoG vs. Locust, no down but not out, badly done vertical movement, spawning with frags, horrible map design..the list goes on.

That said, they also did this very innovative versus mode Overrun, which I played alot and it's still one of the best multiplayer experiences imo so it wasn't all awful 😊 that and a decent campaign was well worth the price of the game + season pass for me.

edit. In fact, I would be pissing sweet honey if they did bring Overrun back. I think it's safe to say it was a fan favorite since there was a healthy number of people playing it even after other modes were near death. It's a more casual and fun to play alternative for those who don't like traditional Gears mp. I know you all would love it 😎

Yes will be playing Gears Ultimate is great, I hope they change the lobby system this time.

April 18th - May 1st is going to be the best 2 weeks of the year until October the 11th arrives that is!

I played UE at launch but it did release days earlier in US, so hopefully I still get the beta code April 18th. It would be nice to play asap 😋

edit. Great news Gridlock is included, I'll never get bored of that map. Plays great.

Still gotta play my Gears:UE copy; I wanna do it before the Beta launches.

Played day one in the UK but that was 3 days after the US release so they better send me my invite right away!

I'll be playing the open beta, never bought Gears UE.

Still haven't received my early access code :(

I guess Microsoft is sending them out in waves.
