Forums - Nintendo - Will Nintendo hold a press conference at this year's E3 to enveil Codename NX?

This year's E3 is coming up quickly and as we seen Nintendo always held a press conference at e3's to show their latest consoles. Nintendo hasn't held one in what? 3 years now? This just makes me wonder if they'll hold a press conference to enveil their NX console. Wouldn't it be very weird to show off a new console at a digital event? Lol idk. What do you think?? I'm so excited for E3! I believe this year is nintendos year! Best E3 since 2013. What do you think?? Will they hold a press conference?

Yes, I feel like revealing it in their "digital event" would be anticlimatic.

yup, I think they are going to start the press conference with zelda wii u, an epic trailer and some gameplay. then 15 minutes of 3ds and wii u games... and then they will reveal the nx name and features, their unprecedented partnership with third party studios like EA, great exclusives like a Mario 64 2 and zelda NX and finally the release date, November 2016.

I kinda expect a big stage show to fully unveil NX with one killer app on Sunday, and then the normal Digital Event where they will talk games on Tuesday

It would certainly make the most sense.

It'd be the best way to help build up hype for something like a brand new console.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I definitely think that they should do a press conference to unveil new hardware, and I feel like that's what they're going to do. A console reveal in a direct just wouldn't be as exciting.

I can't imagine that they wouldn't.

Yes.At least I sure hope so.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Nope. Digital Events are the future.

Probably will. Less effort is needed in making a conference than making a Nintendo Direct and revealing the NX or its features plus its games is interesting enough to avoid spending time on a Nintendo Direct.

Personally, I prefer watching a Nintendo Direct because the transitions between topics are much nicer and its all about games and not a CEO coming on stage talking about numbers. We already get that in Nintendo's quarterly fiscal reports anyway.

They could start the conference with an animated/muppet sketch like the last two E3, though.
