Well yeah, but it is presented to people with a paper with Nintendo symbols all over it to appear "official".

I'm surprised to see how many people think it will be a part of their main E3 event. It isn't going to leave much time to show games though.

Unless their E3 event is over an hour they will announced it before E3,not to mention that if they have the WC again this year there is almost no way they won't use it to promote the NX and it's games and maybe even announce one or two

They could just, you know, do a bigger show than the last couple of years :P .  They are allowed to do that.  I just don't see them doing it sooner since they know that when the NX is announced, they have to do it big and when they do it's going to cause Wii U sales and the sales of many Wii U games to drop like a rock which will only further hurt their bottom line.  So E3 is ideal.  Big stage to announce the NX that comes a while after Star Fox, their last big spring release.  Yeah, Tokyo Mirage Session #FE will be hurt but then again, that game's appeal is very specific and those interested will likely buy anyway (the silver lining of being cripplingly unique and niche :P)

3DW was first shown at the E3 in the year it released it's nothing new even games like Fallout 4 did the same.

Not talking about that, I'm talking about looking back at E3 2011. Being they were showing the Wii U and the things it done and the tech demos, ect ,ect it really summed up all if its games in a montage. Wouldn't it be easier to announce it in a pre E3 reveal (like chibi robo, ect) was last year and then leave E3 entirely for showing off games?

they will talk about it briefly at the investor meeting later this month then a fulll reveal at E3.

Maybe, but running over time into another conference may make viewers leave. Especially if it overlaps with S-E or something. Once the console is announced, its really dangerous waters to expect people to stick around for games unless every single one is knock it out of the park amazing. Or they could actually buy more time and push everyone elses events back....I don't know... Maybe... Don't really see this happening...

Hoping for this month. I don't believe any of the rumours claiming it will be this month, but I think it would make sense to be this month anyway. I hold by my notion that My Nintendo is the first real glimpse of the NX platform. A reveal at the end of this month before the official unveiling at E3 would be incredibly smart way to drive momentum.

Well, I could see them doing a minor pseudo reveal in May.  April is too soon after Pokken and overlaps with Star Fox.  Also it leaves May as a big gulf between the small reveal and the big E3 blowout.  But May is kinda empty.  They could at least show the hardware and maybe a tech show to make people hyper interested so that they can keep everyone's close attention at E3.
