So nice of them to throw in that "bonus" ... for an extra charge, with no option to buy a physical version separately.  Slick.

If ou want the standalone version so badly you can get it dif Usa and physicall and digital in the rest of the world. Now if you want to make a big deal about it, be my guess.

Not entirely sure what ou just said but if you're telling me that there is a physical version in the US without Guard, go ahead and link it.  That would be fine.

However, if there is no stand-alone version of Star Fox Zero and you're trying to whitewash the fact that NoA is charging $10 for what they've termed a "bonus" then I have a problem with that.

As far as I can tell, NoA is forcing those who want a physical copy of Star Fox to pay an additional fee for Guard whether they want it or not.  A lot of people are probably going to be fooled by the cover into thinking Star Fox is $60 and Guard is free.  They absolutely deserve to catch some flak for that, especially considering NoE isn't doing that fake bonus thing.  A big deal?  Not really.  A slick way for NoA to bleed a little extra from their customers?  I'd say so, and deserving of criticism from anyone who is prepared to be objective.

You havent even read the Op, dont you?

Why are you on defensive mode?

Cant you just answer the question with a yes or a no?

Because I know why are you asking, I know how to read between lines.

We all know that the answer is no for more than a year, Miyamoto himself said it wasnt gonna be one, and the OP clearly says there is NO online mode.

You also know the answer, you are only asking so the usual memebers can jump in another hate badwagon because the game lacks a mode that has never had to beggin with.

So what I'm reading from the comments is that the extremely short campaign is acceptable ONLY IF you've played a previous Star Fox game because previous SF gamers should be aware of this, and that you're expected to play it over and over again, possibly beating scores etc. This honestly sounds like the basis of a mobile app game. (I guess it's good that Nintendo is now in the mobile business?)

I feel this game will be difficult to attract new Star Fox gamers. Like how would you try to convince people to buy this game? "The campaign is extremely short but you're suppose to play it over and over again." (that doesn't sound exciting at all)

Gamexplain talks about 10 hours. That game you talk about is around 8.

Also I dont understand that comparison at all,  extremely different games, it makes way more sense to compare star fox with star fox.

It's a comparison between two arcade-based games that works mostly on-rails (with Star Fox having the edge with free-of-movement sequences) and both consist of taking down your enemies to proceed or die. I think it's a fair comparison, despite the different atmosphere and characters in both games.

Gamexplain says it's 10 hours to unlock every stage, but 3 and a half hours to beat the campaing from the first playthrough. Umbrella Chronicles has an eight to ten hours campaing in your first playthrough which then opens up more and more stages and sequences for the player to enjoy. The point I'm getting at is that just because a game goes the arcade-style route, doesn't necessarily justifies having such a short campaing, even if it was the standard back in the 64 days. When a Wii game from 2007 which has a very similar system manages to almost triple that amount of hours, and then has more hours when you chose to try and unlock everything, well, you see why Star Fox could have aimed for more.

Interesting to see Nintendo jumping to the head of the DLC train. I have a feeling NX games won't be playable without Amiibo. Like, you can a buy a game called Galaxy 3 but you'll have to buy the Mario character separately.

plto twist, the NX will just be an Amiibo.

It's fine that you edited your comment but don't act like you didn't.  Your original comment is quoted in my comment and it didn't make much sense, resulting in my confusion over your meaning.

Well, if you are being honest than sorry. The answer is not it doesnt. And, while I dont care because in my mind SF has always been a single player experience, I think is a missing opportunity, I'm sure some peope would have enjoyed that quite a bit and If WiiU wasnt failing so hard I'm sure they would have take the time to implement that.

However Star Fox Guard does have an online mode, you can create levels and share them with everybody online, kind of like with Super Mario Maker.

What were people expecting? Star Fox 64 takes me about 45 minutes to complete and it's still one of my favorite games ever.
